I can't see the song list to this album, but I'm sure it's stuff that the true T-bone fan has. If you don't own any of his stuff this may be a good place to start. Search around and see how the song's compare to his other albums. If you like Jimi Hen...drix, Buddy Guy or Stevie Ray Vaughn you'll love T-bone. Read more Less

  • All Music Guide

This collection is drawn from six sessions TBone Walker did between 1945 and 1953 for the Rhumboogie, Black White, and Imperial record labels. Walker had been playing electric guitar for a couple of years, and with backing from Jack McVea, Ted Buckner, Lloyd Glenn, Bumps Myers, and Jim Wynn, he offers up a characteristic mix of slow blues, TBone shuffles, and the occasional instrumental, all with a slightly swinging edge and featuring his elegant, fluid guitar lines. For all his skill, Walker worked in a fairly narrow window, and hearing several of his songs in a row can make them all kind of melt and merge together, so casual listeners may be bestserved by picking up one of the many career overviews available. This one is fine, however, for the already initiated fan of this important guitar player.

B.B. King has... Read more
