Pros: PDA phone, Windows compatible, SD card expansion, large screen
Cons: poor quality, SD expansion slot was difficult to find and use, must buy & download windows, no support from t-mobile due to HTC contract with t-mobile
I had this phone for less than a year and it broke down on me.
I asked t-mobile to fix it but they said they couldn't because HTC wouldn't let them. I asked HTC to fix it and they said they wouldn't because they think it's water damaged, voiding my warranty. I asked the phone insurance to fix it, they changed their email!
* the faceplace came unglued and pulled my hair out until I finally broke of the piece that was loose and taped the 2nd piece that came loose.
* the phone would decide for itself when it wanted to be on meeting, airplane, normal or any other profile...causing me to miss important calls and receive loud calls when I didn't want to be disturbed.
* the phone finally crapped out on me and now I can't get any of the data out of it to move to my next phone!
* no one will help me and a new phone of this comprability costs 100s

Pros: Nice screen, Media player,Syncs great,Good Camera
Cons: Small Keypad, Center button does not work consistently, No shortcut keys
This is a good entry level phone for those that don't fully need a smart phone. For those who really need a smart phone for business this is not the right phone.
Pros: Love the Phone when it worked.
Cons: FELL APART!!
My whole phone basicly fell apart. buttons fell off, the sides fell off, and the back wont stay on. i loved the phone when it worked. i used it so much the down button broke. the softwear screws up all the time now. the date on my phone says 11/23/2005. it tells me theres not enought memory to do anything even after i have deleted everything from the phone. tmoblie has horrible customer service. i paid $300 for this phone when itcame out. they wont even give me a break on a new phone. THE SDA ISNT WORTH THE MONEY!!
Pros: Outlook sync, MP3, camera
Cons: poolry placed windows media button, other buttons small, no ringtone downloads
I was excited to find a small phone that I could sync up to my Outlook, but I was bummed to get hom eand find I was stuck with the standard 5 or 6 ring tones with no downloads from T-mobile. I guess that will save me some $ though!
Pros: 99% PDA functionality in a compact phone
Cons: Tiny Keyboard, Windows Mobile Quirks
This is an awesome phone. It looks chunky in the pic, but it's actually pretty small. You can do almost everything on the phone that you would with your PC - music, calendar, tasks, internet explorer, full-featured contacts, camera, sync with your PC and more.
You can connect via Bluetooth, EDGE (no 3g, alas), and Wi-Fi (either free ones or T-Mobile HotSpots). A must-have is a mini-SD card which will allow you to put more apps on the phone..
There are tons of programs are available, everything from Java games to encrypted eWallet. You can modify also modify the entire appearance of the phone (themes) or create your own. There is also a large community of Windows Mobile "tweakers" to help you customize your phone..
A few caveats-
1) This is Windows Mobile for Smartphone. It does not have Mobile Word, Excel or PDF like the Pocket PC does. You can read them, but you need to download an extra program to write them. Likewise, the Tasks program is bare-bones. I recommend Oxios ToDo.
2) It will not sync with Mac without an extra program. I found Missing Sync which is an awesome program.
3) Like most camera-phones, the image quality is pretty pathetic.
4) Windows Media Player is not quite the same sound quality as an iPod, but the "one-device" convenience factor trumps that for me.
5) Believe it or not, there's no way to close an application from within the application itself! You have to go into the Task Manager. Lame.
6) The tiny keyboard sucks. If you're a huge texter (I'm not), don't buy this phone, get the Sidekick.
Pros: mp3 player, 1.3 megapixel camera (can hold over 3,000 photos with 1gb memory card) , load speaker, long battery life , wifi, of and did i mention it has an mp3 player!!!
Cons: microscopic keys, no written manual comes with it ,phone could be a little slimmer
great phone overall , I love the mp3 payer and the camera , the only complaint I have is that the keys are extremely too small.
Pros: Outlook synch, 1.3 megapixel still camera & video, WiFi & MS Explorer, Bluetooth, battery life
Cons: Buttons way too small, no paper manual, not intuitive enough, poorly placed buttons
This phone looks great! The viewable area is nice and big and the colors are vibrant. The button arrangement is pleasantly aesthetic too. It's a respectible size for a bar-style phone, and the SDA can synch with Outlook, take pretty nice pictures at 1.3 megapixels, and shoot some short videos either with or without sound. It's even got a space for a mini-SD card to store extra pictures or music.
But "form" and "fuction" are two different beasts. Those aesthetically pleasing buttons may look nice, but they are just way too tiny. Then there's this flat rocker button that's used to navigate around the screen, but it's nearly impossible to push just right. It seems to produce one of two results: either nothing happens, or a wrong selection is chosen. Also, I was hoping this phone could replace my PDA but it falls just short of that. I love that I can synch my appointments, tasks, and contacts from Outlook -- and that alone makes it a big improvement on other phones with a simple manually-entered calendar function. The 1.3 mexapixel camera is really nice, but I find the shutter button to be poorly placed and I often end up turning on the camera or taking a picture just by picking up my phone. It comes with almost everything you need right out of the box. There's a USB cable for synching or charging your phone, a regular wall-outlet charger, an installation CD, clip-on carrying case, and stereo earbud headphones. What the box lacks is an operation manual. Yeah, sure, there's a "Getting Started Guide" but that's like using your powerful computer as a paperweight or a simple digital clock. The phone does so much, but there's no hardcopy manual to read while you learn to use all the features you bought it for in the first place! OK, there's a .pdf manual on the CD but who wants to read through almost 160 pages on their monitor?
Bottom line -- was it worth the money? Yeah. Almost. This phone would be best for someone with tiny fingers or long nails who wants to spend $30 a month above and beyond their regular rate plan for full internet and Wi-Fi T-Mobile Hotspot access. I just don't need all the features it offers and find it not intuitive enough to learn how to use them anyways.
Pros: Wifi, great screen, great pda
Cons: Keys a little small
I absolutely love this phone. I use it as a phone and PDA. Right now it's the only smartphone with wifi and it works great on my wireless network. I have a 2 gig mini sd in it that holds 18 Gilligan's Islands, 6 Flintstones, 6 I love Lucy's, Beethoven, 2 Pokemon movies, Peter Pan, and 10 Looney Tunes cartoons, it also has my NIV Bible, and a 140000 word dictionary - all on the same card. My son uses it in the same way most people use a portable dvd player in the car. The keys are a bit small but I use it with a Stowaway bluetooth keyboard so I get a full keyboard. It syncs automatically over the air with my MS Exchange server so my appts, contacts, tasks, and emails are always up to date. The screen is georgous and pictures and videos look great. It also plays my mp3's well. I recently sold my Dell Axim because with the SDA, I only need one device. I would pick this anyday over the Treo or a Blackberry and it's a smaller form factor. It really is a great all in one device for entertainment and business. I'm so glad I bought it.
Pros: Windows moble inside a great sized phone.
Cons: Would be nice if battery life was slightly longer.
T-Mobile SDA is absolutely great. Now I can carry one item instead of two consisting of my phone and my pda. The activesync is great. You can look at your schedule or contacts at anytime. No need to wait till you get to your computer. Only downside is no microsoft word or excel as in a pda. Overall I find this smartphone absolutely great, especially for the price.
Pros: Very compact and best for business
Cons: In convenient key board
It has everything required for a Phone and PDA. It's light weight. It got a music player, blue tooth and IR communicator. The clarity of the pictures and crisp display makes a lot of difference. It is not too large like black berries or treo. Only inconveniece is it's keyboard. But since I don't send emails too much from my phone it just works best for my needs.
I recommend this for those who doesn't send emails all the time and more than 10 instant messages/SMS messages a day. For short IMs/SMS this key board is okay. I don't think carrying a VHS cassette like phone just because it has a QERTY keyboard makes any sense.
Pros: Excellent speaker, big screen, easily customizable, good camera
Cons: memory card slot not easily accessible (behind battery)
Over all the SDA is a great phone. Some complaints that I have are that the keys are rather small and the mini SD slot can only be accessed when the phone is off. Not very good for people who use more then one memory card. Other then that the phone is very easily customized, you can set your own ring tones (actual songs) and change your background with any picture. The phone is also easy to use, not complicated what so ever.
