Pros: Quality is good for the price. Nothing comes close even the vezio cant get close too it.

Cons: User guide not much help Olevia site needed for all answers could use a few more hook ups

The product for the money is a good deal if you want to spend $1500.00 to $2000.00 for a good lcd TV then you should make the investment. But if you want to have a good second TV at a fair price then this is your TV. Just make sure it has the HDTV tur...ner buit in even if it is a little week in the tunning area. The unit I bought is less then half the price of my Samsung and not as nice as picture but not bad for the price. The functions are a bit extensive to get too. The colors deffinetly had too be readjusted to make viewing clear and proper. Sound qulaity is ok but you will need to turn it up a bit to hear it well enough across a room. U know the other review that has slammed them is not great but i think he got a looser set and is pissed. If he knew anything about the industry almost all the LCD's for all the manufactures come from Taiwan they are the leader in this industry. JVC, Phillips and Toshiba get there screens from here. The codes for getting your universal remotes to work are the same as the Magnavox, Yamaha one of these codes will work. This information is posted on the Olevia Web Site. Pros: Picture Quality, Price

    Cons: Some quirks, Olevia

The picture quality of this TV really is excellent for an LCD, much better than most others I've seen and close to even the best LCDs, thanks to the LG panel and MTK processor. Despite what the negative reviewer said, my 537h definitely has an LG... panel, whether he's talking about another model or Olevia uses mulitple suppliers, I don't know. The factory default settings look very good and need only a little tweaking. SD channels look as good as I've seen on any LCD, especially with noise reduction on. The sound is decent, for built in speakers, it has a really good selection of inputs, though an extra HDMI would be nice and overall it's a good looking set. It does have a few quirks, takes 15 seconds to power up, 2 seconds to change channels, must scroll through all inputs to get the one you want, limited PIP options (ie TV can only be paired with HDMI), manual only on CD and a small but very bright blue LED next to the power button that stays on when the TV is off. Only the channel change and PIP bother me. However I still can't shake a general feeling of distrust for this company. Their customer and tech support seem either unwilling or unable to answer questions about their products, their 7 dead pixel policy was pretty standard a couple years ago but a bit wanting today and although this model claims to offer a 1 year in home warranty I have heard from others that they still require you to send the TV in to them at your expense if they decide to replace rather than repair it. For those trying to find a universal remote that works with this TV, I have a 2 year old One For All 10820 that does work with it after being upgraded. Their newer remotes should already have the codes but if not, they do have models now that can be upgraded over the phone. Read more Less
