EXPERT RATING:

From AMG Reviews

With Leopold Stokowski conducting The American Symphony Orchestra, and The Gregg Smith Singers. A magnificent transcendental vision of life...performed with full spirit by Stokowski's orchestra with attention to the polyrhythms, transparent "memory" textures, harmonic layerings, etc. of Ives completely innovative writing. The songs, especially "Lincoln, the Great Commoner" with its amazing tone-cluster glissandos for voices and strings, are a perfect complement to the Symphony.
