    Pros: Music that will make you listen over and over again

    Cons: I have no negative view except not knowing track 3, 8, 9, 13, 14 & 15. I admit that I don't like those songs all that much, but its all in one's opinion of what they like; however, I feel I got my moneys worth unlike the recent CD's that are out now.

    Without a doubt, she is the original one and only Queen of R&B, handsdown. Anita has won the hearts of many with her sultry voice and enchanting lyrics about love, family, and devotion to her marriage. I was very young when I heard Anita's song...s in the 80's because my mother played her endlessly, but despite my age at the time she showed me what love was all about and there is no one that I listened to that's done it any better. I was glad to find her greatest hits in stores and its good to listen to on a quiet afternoon. Favorites songs are "Rapture (of course), "Just Because", "Giving you the best that I've got", "Joy", "Good Love", "Same Ole Love" and "Body & Soul". In all if you want the taste of true R&B, this CD is the one to have in your collection. Read more Less

    ~Rhino's 2002 compilation The Best of Anita Baker contains all of her hits -- both the pop crossovers and songs that were big only on the RB charts. Many of these songs are presented in their single edits, not the album versions, which is a plus, since these are the versions that were played on the radio. Although it is true that nothing Anita Baker did was ever as sublime as Rapture, she did continually turn out fine adult contemporary and urban soul ballads throughout the late '80s and early '90s, all of which are here, making this not just a good summary/introduction, but a nice disc of highlights for those searching for more than Rapture.
