    Lush, dizzying visuals, a sense of color that Andy Warhol would envy, and errie, haunting music are just the backdrops for a great mystery. When Susan finally figures out the clues, you are in for a heart-pounding ride to the end. If you liked Hellra...iser 2 (the one where they go inside the puzzle box), give this movie a try.     There are just no words for how good this film is. The best horror film ever made probably. Amazing visuals, stunning music, intriguing plot and excellent surreal atmosphere.

    Dario Argento's finest hour. A masterpiece of Italian horror, stylish, creepy, very gory (without cuts) and a fantasticly ghoulish rock opera by a band known as the Goblins. Several stand out scenes, my favourite being the out of the frying pan into ...the fire scene where the girl tries to escape from the killer through a small window into another room that just happens to be filled with err .. well you find out. If you love horror then this is up there with one of the best, play it loud and play it in the dark with your pants down and a bat in your hand. Read more Less

    Why do I waste my time watching this sort of drivel? I can't believe others have given this movie a high rating! I have to say this is one of Dario Argento's worst movies.The acting is wooden,the music is annoying and it's completely wast...ed a good hour and half I could've spent watching the complete series of Trumpton!     I think the advertising for this film stated that "The only this more terrifying than the last 5 minutes are the first 90 minutes." Well this is actually true. For the first 90 minutes, Dario Argento manages to create a well made and very creepy hor...ror film, high on visual style if low on plot logic. But he blows it the last 5 minutes by including explosions and a non-satisfying conclusion. Overall, a good horror film...Probably the most effective use of the Goblins' music... Read more Less

    This film has one of the best beginnings of any horror film ever made. Very intense. After that, it's still creepy, BUT...as is usually the case with Argento's films, the acting suffers, probably as a result of the overdubbing from Italian into Engl...ish. A fairly cohesive effort, the film was later cannabalized by the creator himself for the completely senseless INFERNO. Read more Less
