Pros: AWESOME MUSIC
Cons: NONE
I LOVE ALL THE SONGS ON THIS CD:)
Pros: None
Cons: Loser
She's always full of herself, I mean she did a music video without no f***in clothes on, give me a break. Ozzy Osbourne never had to be naked to be successful, he did things the real way.
She's a bit full of herself and a little overrated, but she has her moments. Jagged Little Pill is better.
I just recently purchased "Under Rug Swept" & instantly became a fan. Of course, I went out & purchased "Jagged Little Pill" (love it), and "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" & I must say I am so impressed with her talent. All her music kicks ass. I am blown away with this album. The lyrics are soooo creative & contain so much substance along with the masterwork of brilliantly arranged music. All this combined has completely formulated this album into a magnificant musical masterpiece. Alanis is a true talent in the music industry & totally deserves a boundless thumbs up. This album is a 5++++++++++++++++++++++++
+++++++. Although, it is to early to consider another album, I hope Alanis will soon be embarking on her next work of art & 4th album. A MUSICAL GENIUS!! Oh, & you definitely get your $$'s worth. She certianly gives her fans 17 beautiful gifts with this CD (17 tracks, that is).
I heard Alanis just before Jagged Little Pill took off. At the time of it's release, I thought Jagged Little Pill was the most incredible album, then I got into Tori Amos! Looking back, Jagged Little Pill seemed like an entry way into a new realm of music, and for that reason, I still give Jagged Little Pill a high rating! Alanis went on to release Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, this album had a more mature, introspective sound. Mainstream America does not get much out of music unless it is simple lyrics with simple beats. Because of this sad fact, SFIJ did not earn the same populartity as her first album, though it garnered very strong / positive reviews, and established Alanis as a long term force among the "introspective / thinker" crowd.
OK-Ive had many people tell me and have read that this album sucks-but-dont listen to them. If you are expecting Jagged Little Pill II-there is some of it on here-but it really is quite different-but in a great way!!! Just dont listen to it in a way like-"oh this doesnt sound JUST LIKE Jagged Little Pill so it automatically sucks!" because it does not!! Listen to it more than once-it will become a part of your life!
the first impression i had on this album was that it was unusually long.....17 songs and reaching a total length of 71 mins.
most songs are crafted masterfully, but my favorites among these are " Thank U ", " The Couch " and " So Pure "
alanis' vocals are haunting and music arrangement is exquisite
A few months ago, I disliked Alanis Morissette (not that I ever really thought enough about her to do that). This was because a really obnoxious girl in my gymnasium class back in 1996 used to sing "You Oughta Know" and "Hand In My Pocket" during recess. Couldn't even take a hint. Anyway, I've really turned on a dime these past months: from dislike to adoration. First "JLP" (except for "You Oughta Know"), and now this album. I haven't quite located all the songs yet, and the album can't escape being a bit muddled, but a lot of the songs have really opened themselves up to me during the past few days, especially "That I Would Be Good" and, to a lesser extent, the 3-4 songs following it. Another favorite of mine is "Joining You", which I connected with at first listen. Even more than "JLP", this album proves that Alanis most surely doesn't deserve the label of "MTV darling" that I always used to pin on her.
The way I would like to express my feelings about this world we live in and whats in it. She says is straight to the point; she says it the way it is....I would suggest this album to anyone.
not as great as jagged little pill, but still very very original and great to listen to! 'that i would be good' is brilliant!
this is way cool, and one of my few cds that i can stand to listen to all of the tracks.
This record is provided with it own life... Excellent Work from Alanis Morissette
Dare I say it, but yes, this is better than Jagged Little Pill. It's definately more spiritual. I think it's probably a little more personal also. This CD sounds like the mighty Alanis is reciting very emotional poetry. And, I happen to be a fan of poetry. These songs are so wonderful. I don't understand how people say this was a disaster. Come on!!!!
This album dfoes not live up to alanis' "Jagged little pill"but it is a really good album!!!!!She has shown the ups of here life in this and the downs in Jagged little pill!!!!! I truely great Artist!!!!
i love her music. It's very good. It's the best.
I love the new type of music she has produced. It's so different from "Pill", and she is still number one on my list. There's a great variety of genres on this cd, and I think that it deserves the best rating around.
Jaged Little Pill was a raw album. A complete experience with 13 songs. Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is an album that is crafted too much... An album weighted down with 17 songs( some which I feel didn't need to be there). Nonetheless, Morissette has definitely showed the world that she belongs in the world of music... And with songs like Can't Not and That I Would Be Good she has proven to her fans why she is the front-runner for females in the music industry.
BUY THIS ALBUM! I've been a loyal Alanis fan for years, and I found the follow-up to "Pill" so much like her - and yet not at all. Her unorthodox approach to songwriting and brutal honesty in her lyrics are timeless. I only wish that other musicians have the courage and conviction to analyze their own lives and question their own spirituality as she has. I can't wait to see what's next with her.
This album rocks
Supposed former infatuation junkie is a great album. It isn't harsh, yet her messages get conveyed ver clearly. Deffinately worth 5 stars!!! :)
