    Pros: everything(I'll explain)

Cons: the only con would be there was only 15 tracks!!!!!!

I don't even know where to start! This album was real, melancholy, heavy and vunerable with amazing riffs, melodies and supporting harmonies all at once. It's absolutely brilliant from the music to stories behind the lyrics. The band's musical range and talent is unmatched. Songs like "Fresh Tendrils","Limo Wreck", and my personal favorite"Like Suicide" are just a few that take you on an emotional rollercoaster about love, personal and global downfalls, and life experiences that leave you wanting more.Yes I know this is my personal opinion, but I've never met anyone who does not rank this album with the best of them like The Beatles "White Album" or Zeppelin's "IV" album.I'm not talking about sound; rather of inspiration. Please do yourself a favor and go out and purchase this album. You will be happy that you did.

This cd is the best Soundgarden cd. Three words are all i need to say: "Black Hole Sun". That is one of the best songs ever wrote. The cd would still kickass even if that was the only track on it.

one of the best grunge bands youll ever

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 14, 2003

This is one of Soundgadens best CD that they ever made. Besides Nirvana and Pearl Jam , soundgarden was one of the greatest grunge bands. Black Hole Sun is one of the greatest songs of our time, besides once again some of Nirvanas and Pearl Jams songs. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes grunge, rock, and punk. If they like this CD they will like most of Nirvanas and Pearl Jams CD. So go out and buy them.

    Not a great grunge LP

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 26, 2002

The album is miserably overrated. i can think of 20 albums from the nineties that were superior, and the 90's were not even that great. It wasn't poorly written, but it was nothing spectacular. For grunge fans only, but don't buy it until you've heard Alice in Chains "Dirt" "Facelift", or Pearl Jam's "ten". If you don't like those, then you don't like grunge.

Top three albums of the '90s.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 3, 2002

C'mon! 5 Stars is not enough. This album is 1-15 a PERFECT recording. Maybe the best work of the '90s. If you remember, the decade started with crap-pop - then Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Mother Love Bone took over and saved us all. With the exception of PJ's "Ten", Nirvana's "Nevermind", and Smashing Pump's "Gish" - this album defined the movement, they took head of state once this was released in my mind. They are not my favorite band from that time - but give this album props. It is a f*cking masterpiece.
BEST SONG? mmmm...."Head Down" or "Like Sucide" (acoustic version)

What else can I say? The definitive album from the 90's. I think it is safe now for us to drop the grunge tag that this album was horribly labeled as. The band and this album in particular were way beyond that. Time moves on folks. This album could have been released in the last 20 years and still sound fresh. It could have came out in the era of progressive, heavy metal, or straight ahead rock and roll. It just so happans it was released when everything was Alternative and/or Grunge. All I can say is whatever. Superunknown is a classic, no matter what it's fucking labeled as far as I am concerned...

This album goes down in history as one of the most versatile, profound, progressive and moody (in a good way) rock albums.

Chris Cornell has the most beautiful singing-voice of all time.

You can't go wrong with SUPERUNKNOWN, one of the best albums ever. Really strong well-made grunge rock that hooks on you easily. "Black Hole Sun", "Spoonman", "Fell On Black Days",
"My Wave", "Day I Tried To Live", "Kickstand" and "Limo Wreck" are all my real favorites on an even timeless CD. Recommended, with five stars since I couldn't give it 10.

    Best album of the 90s?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 11, 2001

Definately in the top 5 albums of the 90s. Every song is amazing, not one mediocre note or riff or lyric to be found. After Badmotorfinger was overlooked due to the huge popularity of Nirvana and Pearl Jam, Soundgarden came back with an album that topped everything before it that was grunge.

Best alternative album of all time

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 29, 2001

This is the album that generated most of Soundgarden's hits and made them known around the world. Although Badmotorfinger gave them some success, this album turned Soundgarden into legends. Every song here is a gem, and like some review said: Compared to Soundgarden, Nirvana's angst seems childish.
Buy this album, and you'll get all the hits: "black hole sun", "spoonman", "my wave" & "fell on black days" and also the fan-favorites like "limo wreck" and "like suicide"
