Pros: gives a good message to the upcoming youth..

Cons: there are really no cons because the songs are so powerful and uplifting it tells you how the world is in the ghetto.

i think this is the best cd that is out there because it gives off a good message and curtis mayfield is one of the best storytellers that there was i am only 22 years old and i can relate to some of the things he talked about in his songs..another thing is that i was a little child running wild but i calmed down before it was to late

SUPERFLY: DELUXE 25TH ANNIVERSARY

I was in high school and living in public
housing when the SUPERFLY movie and original soundtrack first came out. Back then, I enjoyed that vinyl album immensely. The 25th
anniversary deluxe CD is the greatest. In this two CD set, there is the original album. On disc two,there is another version of FREDDIES
DEAD. There is GHETTO CHILD, which is another
version of LITTLE CHILD RUNNING WILD. WOW!!!
GHETTO CHILD is so awesome by being more bluesy
and emothional, it would have been an excellent
choice on the first vinyl album. As a matter of
fact, THE WHOLE DISC TWO should have been
included in the original score! For those of you who will buy this CD for the first time,
you will certainly enjoy. However, for those of
you who lived through the seventies,who saw the movie and first listened to SUPERFLY on
33 and a third and you now want experience the
music and the memories on CD, I GUARANTEE that
you will enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! RHINO RECORDS
should be commended for putting this compilation together. Even the package layout
is slick because there is a photo from a scene
in the movie prompted by a lyric from one of
the songs. SUPERFLY DELUXE 25TH ANNIVERSARY
CD is indeed worth twice the money.

As a kid, I've played this album many times over. This album inspired many R&B, hip-hop and rap artists. I love the title track as well as, Pusherman, Little Child Running Wild and Freddie's Dead. Everyone in the field should give thanks to this talented artist for such tremendous work.

This is a classic album, of soul/funk. Curtis Mayfields voice sounds fantastic and the music is sweet, funky and rousing. If you are into soul this is a must, sampled by many contemporary wannabees. He will be greatly missed.
