Fun, Beautiful, Challenging, Diverse
Pros: Great camera control, Excellent use of color, Creative
Cons: Jumps, Flips, and Spraying take time to master
Super Mario Sunshine is decidedly fun, with a variety of beautiful, brightly colored levels and challenging minigames. You will find yourself hunting down every last blue coin -- not because you have to, but because it is fun. You will find imaginative ways to access roofs, towers, windmills, etc. You will perfect your special flipping and spraying abilities. There is good control over camera angles. Though the game is set in an island-like environment, there is good diversity in the scenery of the various stages. This game is excellent for a wide variety of gamers.

Pros: Mario goodness

Some people might be skeptical about this game cause he has to carry a water pack. But fear not. The water pack may water down this game but Mario is still the same old Mario. The story is the same. Mario and Princess peach are happy together. Then they get attacked by strange people that are after the princess.Just to find out that it is Bowser and his cohorts. The game can be really fun, and really repeatitive. Mario cleans up a mess collects sprite repeat. The controls are very moderate nothing to drasticly wrong or drastically good. The sound is very good! Music adds the tropical feeling that you are on an island. The graphics where great! Watching the slime vibrate and detains on Mario especially when he is dirty is great. All in all. Die hard Mario will love this but the casual player of Mario game might be disappointed.

Cons: Some games impossible to beat at first.
This game is fun and exciting. I love the backgrounds they have for each part of the game. I like the new moves and items Mario can use. It should give out more hints while you are playing the game though. I am having a very hard time in Salena Beach right now. There is no pineapple for Yoshi to eat so he can eat all the ghosts in the little maze at the middle of the ceilling and roof. But otherwise the game is really fun.

This game is the best Mario game Nintendo has made so far.It plays like the N64 Mario, but he now has a new gadget, his water pack. It seemed really stupid, but once you use it you find out it's an awsome new item Mario uses. The graphics are good and sound is cool aswell. Buy this game.

this game will leave you playing forever!!!!!! i still haven't beaten it, but i know were alot of SECRET shine sprites are. spray the sand by
the light house alot and it will show a picture of one. keep on spraying it.

This is a great game. Dont let its kiddie look trick you. Its surprisingly very challenging. I have one question. Why is Mario so darn fat?! I swear, if you cant stand overweight people, dont buy this game. Otherwise, by all means buy it. Dont rent it. BUY IT.

A must have for all gamecube owners. Over 40 hours of gameplay and a cool plot. Youd be nuts to pass this up.

Well,by now you know that Super Mario Sunshine is finally avalible in stores. Its been 6 years since Marios major Blockbuster platformer. Was it as good as the last one? You can figure that out.
Thw story is generally the same as the ones from the ol 16-bit days with a few things differant,
Mario,Princess Peach,and an old toad called Toadsworth,head for Isle Delfino for a well-desevered vacation,only to discover that the island is getting graffeti,and nasty sludge. The culprit is a man with a mustasge and a hat...and over-...alls...? Hey,that sounds like Mario! Mario is then sentenced to hours of community service cleaning up the island and restoring the Sun Sprites,witch restores the sunlight and relaxation back to the island.
Players familiar with the series will notice a big change right away. Cutsences. The story of Mario Sunshine is told through cutsences. This adds a bit more depht in the explanation from the story and it adds a new twist from the original scrolling-up text.
The game does offer plenty of platforming action and it will often be difficult for players new to the Mario series. Also new to the series,is a water pump called FLUDD. This pump will serve A LOT of purposes,especially later in the game. The pump can be used to clean up the glup and graffti,a tool for temporary hovering,and even a rocket for blasting up to high places. The game constantly revoles around it,so its wise to use it as much as you can without wasting water. Also,be prepared to hover ALOT!! More than you think,because the game seems to require hovering excessivly.
The biggest flaw in the game isnt the game itself,its the camera. The camera is entirely in your control,meaning little,if any, Camera AI. Because of this,you canstantly have to move around the camera while having to do a mind-consuming stunt. Which can be quite annoying...
Overall,the game is nice with coolful surrounding and characters that look and feel favorable to the series. But, is it better than the rest? Aww,go ahead and play it! 4 out of 5.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoThe best Mario Game yet...
I've played and passed many a mario game but this had to have been the funnest and most challenging. it is a must to add to your gamecube collection...
