After 13 years of non musical activity (except for Kettle Whistle in 1997), Jane's Addiction has finally released a new record. Overall, I must say that I love this album!! There are lots of really good songs here, like "Just Because", ..."Suffer Some", and "Price I Pay". The band does a great job retaining its traditional sound. Perry Farrell has completely abondoned the "Porno for Pyros" sound and has returned to his original roots. Dave Navarro's guitars are awesome, and his solos fit in perfectly with all the songs. Stephan Perkins once again proves that he's one the best drummers out there. The only band member missing is base player Eric Avery (now currently replaced by Chris Chaney). I stongly recommend this to anyone who's been a fan of Jane's Addiction in late 80's and early 90's. It's a great record that is true to their roots. Read more Less

I never thought it would happen but my favorite band from the late 80's early 90's is finally back with a fantastic album. If you are an old school Jane's fan then get it ASAP. A return of the great Addiction

Janes Addiction have returned with new music for us all to live and celibrate life to. Strays has got to be the best colletion of music to come out in a while. As we all know, music has been lacking flavor and substence lately. This is a real JA albu...m full of all the addictive mood swings and tight musicianship. Well worth the money. fav songs have got to be "Price I Pay", "Strays" and "Superhero". By later today I'm sure my favs will change again, they were "Hypersonic" and "Just Because" the first time I lisend to the CD. Good vocals, killer guitar and a tight rhythum section. Enjoy! Just Warming Up, It Seems

This album is not great, but it shows that the next one could be. Some songs are solid, but the rest are forumulaic and lacking emotional "grab me." The album cover and the album title lend a sense of unfortunate commercialism. Will tide... me over for maybe a year. Read more Less

There comes a time in every artisit's career that they need to take a step back and examine themselves. Jane's Addiction is no exception. Only, it took them 13 years to find their way back home. "Strays" is a monumental achievment i...n Rock and Roll. It is the best example of the free spirited nature of rock for our time. Blending pleasure and pain seemlessly into one unified album, the bands finds a focus and a structure that previously eluded them. This is an album from a band that put their pretentions on hold and made an album the world can party to, as well as get lost in the thick atmosphere. To hear a band at the top of their game giving their heart and soul to the listener is not only refreshing, but it's also extremely fun, unlike the majority of serious rock today. This is the most over produced butt-rock I've ever heard. I can't believe this is supposed to be a Jane's Addiction album. There's none of the trademarks of Jane's older music. No time changes. No theatrics. It sounds alot like Na...varro's solo album. Which was sucked but was much better than this! Read more Less
