great soundtrack with music from some good bands like sevendust, pantera, coal chamber, marilyn manson, soulfly, (hed)pe, and system of a down, but the best song on the entire album is "absent" by snot.

    Phenomenal

The hard rock CD you've all been waiting for! I have not yet seen the movie, but when I looked at the artists on this CD, I felt myself forced to buy it! With greats like System of a Down, Sevendust, Pantera, Megadeth, Anthrax, dayinthelife..., (hed...)p.e., Kid Rock, The Clay People, M. Manson, Coal Chamber, this soundtrack is really one of the best rock soundtracks there is. Beginning with Dee Snider's own song, continuing on with Sevendust, Megadeth, and Pantera's crunching guitars and bold lyrics, continuing on with Anthrax's and Snot's awesome fusions, Coal Chamber's homophobic lyrics, throwing in some softer, but certainly not mellower dayinthelife..., pushing Manson to the show, getting Kid Rock to get in your face with Eminem, all to lead up to one of the finest, most intelligent and phenomenal songs from System of a Down, "Marmalade". Pro Reviews: Strangeland

  • All Music Guide

Since ex-Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider wrote and starred in the 1998 horror movie Strangeland, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the soundtrack is comprised of 100 heavy metal. By combining already established bands with new groups and mixing unreleased tracks with overlooked album cuts, the soundtrack for Strangeland is easily one of the best heavy metal soundtracks ever released. The majority of Pantera and Marilyn Manson fans will already be familiar with their tracks, "Where You Come From" and "Sweet Tooth," respectively, but there's plenty of rarities you won't find anywhere else. New tracks by Coal Chamber ("Not Living"), Megadeth ("A Secret Place"), Sevendust ("Breathe"), and dayinthelife (a cover of Twisted Sister's "Street Justice") are definite highlights, as is a new track by a re-formed Twisted Sister ("Heroes Are Hard to Find"). The Strangeland soundtrack gives yet another reason to believe that heavy metal is far from becoming extinct any time soon. - Greg ...Prato, All Music Guide Read more Less
