    STRANGE DAYS

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 7, 2001

The entire planet is in chaos, its December 30th 1999 and the millenium is fast approaching. Lenny Nero (Ralph Fiennes) is an ex-cop who now deals in clips, digital recordings of peoples lives. When he receives a "blackjack" clip revealing the brutal... rape and murder of a close friend, Lenny teams up with Mace (Angela Bassett) and Max (Tom Sizemore), two colleagues to capture the psycho before the millenium is up. Ralph Fiennes leads an all star cast including Michael Wincott, Juliette Lewis, Vincent D'onofrio and William Fitchner in this revved up action thriller with outstanding special effects. Director Kathryn Bigelow (who directed Point Break) captures the theme of this movie with real professionalism and directs so immaculately that the audience feel like they are part of the movie itself. Highly recommended to sci-fi fans but be warned, this movie contains extreme graphic, disturbing, brutal violence and may be offensive to some. Read more Less

    A must see film

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 1, 2000

Largely ignored when it first came out at the box office Strange Days is an important film that every one should see before we enter the new millenium. The film plunges head first into betrayl, friendship, drug fixes, snuff films, murder, police bru...tality, gang violence and many other unerving topics. Backed by an excellent cast the movie stands as one of the most important American films of the last 20 years. Ralph Fiennes is at his best as a "drug" dealing ex-cop and Angels Basset shines as his friend caught in the middle of events she doesn't understand nor care to. Look for Brigette Bako (who puts in a stellar performanc as a porsitute in the wrong place and time) and Mike Wincott (The Crow and Metro) as a slimey record producer. See this film, it is that important. After watching the film you will understand why the theme of the film is as we enter the millenium "it's not whether you are paranoid, it's whether you are paranoid enough!"-Ian Brewster Read more Less
