    Off the hinges!!!

    Pros: Good lyrics, creative songs

    Cons: Average beats, one wack track, Bravehearts show up

    If you haven't already bought this album you are missing out on of the greatest albums of 2001. Almost everyone laughed at Nas when he got dissed on Jay-Z's "takeover" from his wack ass Blueprint album. Well Nas replied with his let...hal "Ether" and wait till u hear what Nas has in store for Jigga. The best songs on here are Ether, Rewind, One Mic, Got yourself a...Gun, What Goes around(Poison). There's only 1 wack track and it is "Braveheart Party" but it got pulled off the album later on and now the album is nearly flawless. Bottom line pick this up and don't pay attention to the dumb ass Jay-Z di*kriders hating on Nas's massive talent(something jay-z don't have). Read more Less

    Better than jay-z

    Not a bad album, but not as good as Illmatic or It was written. I have to say that with this album, Nas is definitely better than Jay-z. I think Jay-z is an alright artist, but his songs seem to be made for dancing while Nas talks about real life iss...ues and struggles. The best songs are "Got ur self a..." "Ether", "One mic", "Rewind", and "The bridge is over". I think that Stillmatic definitely is on top over Jay-z's Blueprint which is a bit overrated. So go out and buy this album because Nas is one of the best today. It may not be as good as his first two, but is still is a must have. Read more Less

    I don't knwo why so many people sleep on this album. This is the best album he's done, besides Illmatic, of course. Maybe their just too used to their pop-rap. Nas may be mainstream, but this album is true hip hop. You must buy it if you haven't alre...ady. Read more Less

    Nas makes his second masterpiece and another hit CD although can he live up to it from now on? I mean look at his history once known as a poetic legend with Illmatic then forgotten about by the time Nastradamaus came out.     This album is solid, but i think it's Nas' third best album behind illmatic and it was written. In my opinion it shouldn't have got 5 mics from the source(neither should have the blueprint). I don't understand why people think nas dropped off in the ...first place. I AM.... was a great album and nastradamus was his only flaw. 4 classic albums out of 5 aint that bad. Read more Less

    This is Nas's best album since illmatic. He returns to his roots and takes it to another level. He torches Jay-Z on the Ether joint and rips into Prodigy, Cormega, and Nature on the Destroy and Rebuild joint. I don't know why Mary J Blige had a probl...em with the braveheart party song. Nas should keep the song on the album.Overall I have it ranked album of the year for 2001. Read more Less
