Prolific percussionist and producer Steve Reid first surfaced during the mid1970s, in the years to follow playing on over 700 recording dates, including sessions led by the legendary Miles Davis. In 1987, he scored his greatest success yet as a cofounder of the enormously popular contemporary jazz group the Rippingtons, also crossing over to pop audiences as a member of Supertramp.
