Much like southern rock revivalists My Morning Jacket and Kings of Leon, Steel Train essay a postpunk take on the hoary sounds of '70s album rock; it's classic rock radio sent through a few hipster fuzz pedals. Singer Scott Irby Ranniar and guitarist Jack Antonoff formed Steel Train (taking their name from the Bob Marley song of the same title) as a busking duo in New York City in 1999.
