Pros: Better items, much more items, Better dialogue with other characters, can make other characters jedi
Cons: storyline is nowhere in comparison with the original
This game is going to take ya prolly 35-40 hours to beat the first time, but only like 25-30 your second and then on. The storyline was nowhere near as good as the first, however, there are much more items, upgrades, you can make items now and you can train your companions to become jedi to fight along side you. Your dialogue still can change weather you are light or dark, but now you have influence with your companions, and with 3 of them you can make them jedi. Your other companions just fill ya in on what happened with reven and yourself between the games.
You gain influence with your other cmpanions by simply telling them what they want to hear. easy enough.
The only thing thhis game lacks from the original was the storyline, everything else is much better.
Pros: Great game play with lots of addictive fun
Cons: takes 30-40 hours to beat
I loved it! It had hours of exciting levels and many different encounters! Whats really awesome is you can decide what you want to do!
Pros: New Powers / Cool Abilities
Cons: Mr. Neanderthal (with ADD to boot) wrote the script
If you liked KoTOR: Knights of the Old Republic for its storyline (and I did enjoy it immensly), you may have digestive isues with The Sith Lords. Lacking in continuity, with logistical issues, plot and storyline, KoTOR II left me wondering "What happened...? I mean, really, what happened!?"
In act one of The Sith Lords we get the taste of new cool powers/feats, which are blown away by a dull, middle-schooler mentality plot, devoid completely of anything noteworthy, save the incessant sarcasm from the NPCs dragging behind you. Oh wait, we do learn that all Jedi basically have been killed in the last 5 years (since the end of the first game) and that you are the last remaining Jedi and for some innanely obsessive reason, the Sith have focused their entire effort on killing you...not sure why, because, per the inane plot, some 10 years ago you have been evidently stripped of the force by the Jedi order (I bet, no matter how many Star Wars books you have read, you did not know that other Jedi could simply STRIP you of your force, did ya'?).
Well, act 2 starts off diving only even deeper into the same well...and the badly written script gets only worse.
In conclusion, when you are going to publish a game that is plot-driven, at least make it have a worthwile plot. It doesn't have to be an oscar winner, but at least let it make sense. Selling a gibberish script-doodle for $50 on a non-refundable product is simply unacceptable!
Overall experience: this is a $19.99 product, not worth the price it's asking for.
I give this game 2 STARS for expanded skills/powers tree (ie. potential for even cooler characters than the original had). All other aspects unfortunately are average to miserable. The too-frequent crashes to the desktop do not help.
Pros: As good or better than 1
Cons: not total freedom
This one is supposed to pick up where the first left off. You are supposed to get more freedom and wider range of
