    Killer Game

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 11, 2006 | 4 out of 5 found this Star Wars: Empire at War review helpful

Pros: Great Graphics and Fun online play

Cons: AI can be a bit difficult on normal mode

I cannot put into words what this does for the Star Wars universe. Finally, after years of waiting, we get a game that is worthy of the Star Wars Name. The Gameplay on this game is truely amazing. You are thrust into the Star Wars universe, amist a m...assive Galactic Civil War, a war between bitter rivals, the noble Rebel Alliance to restore the Republic and the powerful Empire. You suddenly find your self in the control of one of the two factions, the fate of the galaxy is in your hands. Also, the multiplayer is just amazing. Very few games have this level of multiplayer. I love it. Read more Less

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 18, 2006 | 2 out of 2 found this Star Wars: Empire at War review helpful

    Pros: More than enough

    Cons: none

This is the best Star Wars game I have ever played(and i have played a lot). The cinematic mode is awesome, and though ground battles are a bit long, they are still fun. The two campaigns require different strategies, with the Rebellion focusing on h...it and run while the Empire is about full on assaults. The campaign carries a balance of stealth missions, combat missions, and missions with special objectives. In terms of space battles this the game to go to. The representation of the battles is simple, and there is no hassle in controlling your units. The controls are intuitive, and the gameplay is not too fast paced. This as I said, is the best Star Wars game in recent times, and one of the best RTS games of all time. Read more Less

    Need to buy this game

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 15, 2006 | 1 out of 1 found this Star Wars: Empire at War review helpful

Pros: Space combat nuf said, Rebellion eske gameplay

Cons: Too expensive, Demo needs more levels

If you have ever played Star Wars Rebellion you will love this game, if you have never played Star Wars Rebellion you need to get that game first, I base all my opinions of any game onto that game. The gameplay of EaW is very intense, fast paced, bu...t very fun. Space battles are gorgeous. Cons: First off this game is still $50.00 it was released too long ago to still be $50.00, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is only $15.00 at CompUsa so if you are low on cash get SC:CT instead of Star Wars Empire at War and maybe, just maybe LucasArts will drop the price. star wars empire at war

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 29, 2006 | 1 out of 2 found this Star Wars: Empire at War review helpful

Pros: easy to use, decent zoom and space combat

Cons: good ground combat, becomes stagnant and boring after a few games.

A decent star wars title. The space combat is well done, and has some variety. Ground combat is nice to look at, but if you want a good ground contol game, buy Dawn of War. Star wars ground battles quickly become to similar in style and mission. The ...campaign is fun, and some good planning lets you run rampant with the death star. One of the better star wars games in a while, but I find it's sitting on my shelf a lot now. I doubt I'll buy the expansion, but if you don't have the game, give it a few months, wait for some kind of gold edition, pick it up when the expasions packed with it, and you'll probably get a good buy. If not, 29.99 should be about all it's worth. Read more Less

    Pros: lots

    Cons: none

So with all the hype and after playing the demo I was still a little unsure and was bracing myself for mediocre game. Once I loaded EAW up I was hooked. I played the single-player story campaign all weekend long (24 hours straight) and have not even ...gotten into the MP and campaign modes. The gameplay had so many options on how to play unlike any other RTS before it. EAW gave me a unique way to play the game in every mode. All hail Petroglyph and may we have many many more RTS games from you in the future. Read more Less
