    The first season was by far the worst of the series.

    If this is as bad as this set gets, WOW, bring on season 2, 3, 4....etc....

    NO commercials, AND I get to skip over the intro song IF I'm in a hurry.

    If you like ST: TNG you MUST own this.

    Excellent sound on 5.1 format. Picture quality is a bit fuzzy on dark scenes – but overall sound and picture quality rocks! These DVDs are much pleasant to watch compared to cable.     I have read there are DVD players that are interactive in some fashion.

    That is the most annoying part of Season1, when wesley was a pure annoying kid.

    I must say, i just watched all the disc's and that was the best weekend ive spent watching tv in a long time. Now i can't wait til the other seasons come out.     I just got this set today, and I don't know how other people write reviews before they can even buy something, but it's been a long time since i've seen these episodes in good condition, my VHS tapes of them when they first aired are about worn out. ... Nice to not have to fast forward thru the commericals to (LOL). the picture quality is excellent, and the DD 5.1 sound is as good as any of the ST movies.as always the preceeding opinions are not those of anyone else but myself, and if you don't agree, you can go jump in a lake.     Although i personally feel that the first season of The Next Generation had its flaws and was overall the worst of the sires' seasons. The high quality of sound and picture in this set however, brings the season to life and highlights the good episod...es and scenes, instead of the bad. Read more Less
