Star Trek The Next Generation Goes Out In Glory
Pros: Shocking and disturbing
Cons: The end?
Star Trek The Next Generation began on the silver screen in a sad way and ended even sader.Odd for such a positive and hopeful TV show but 'Nemesis' is a high quality,well written movie.It deals with Picard and Data both having clones-both of which are (in different ways) not as knowledgable as they could be about the truth.And the truth is the Romulans and their villianous neighbors the Remans are in conflict and Picards clone Shinzon is behind it all.This movie is full of disturbing imagry as well as some happy.Riker and Troi wed at last (even if she's mentally raped by Shinzon later on) and Data finds another twin in B-4 who,alas is just as misguided as his other twin Lore was.Sad part is that in order to save the crew ala Spoke Data...well he dies,left only with B-4 having a few of his memories.This movie is all about endings,change and letting go of anger and it is apparent that this (plus the funereal TV series Enterprise) that this movie is something of an end to Star Trek as an entity.Which is sad because if we ever needed hope for a secure future we sure need it now.

I was excited to finally have a Next Generation movie. My expectations were high. I shouldn't have hoped for so much. This movie is the worst of all the Star Trek movies. They have totally killed the franchise for me. So much was messed whith in this movie that didn't need messing. Between this & Enterprise, I've totally given up on Star Trek forever.

I grew up watching Star Trek: TNG when the series first came out, and was thrilled when they started putting movies out. With "Nemesis" I was on the edge of my seat for nearly the whole movie, and when the climax of the movie came, I was was both shocked and upset. I've never had a movie draw me into it like this one. This is a must-see for any Star Trek fan, and I urge you... if you don't like it the first time you see it, take some time and watch it again. I loved this movie.

Cons: half of the plot has been recycled.
this movie is another star trek great, even though a lot of the plot has been recycled from some of the TNG episodes it still has my thumbs up. the dune buggy that was used in the starting scene was great but i think it should have been used in the end as well instead of just a flash in the pan piece of futuristic technology. the special effects were used to a great extent and some of the ideas brought up by the crew were great. overall this was a great movie.

Awesome movie, even better seeing it the second time on DVD. It's good for either a final movie or a cliffhanger movie. Let's hope they don't end this.

Wether you are a Star Trek fan or not, Star Trek Nemesis is a great movie. There may be some things that sensitive people might not like, such as blood, or the scary face of the bad guy. The storyline was as always with any Star Trek movie, excellent. I also thought that the loss of Data was very appropriate for the last movie in The Next Generation series. Also for his replacemnt. The beginning on the bridge of the Enterprise where thay talk about a nude wedding reception may be offinsive to some people however. But the few offensive things in the movie were more then made up for in the sheer maximun of action and excitement. Put simply, this is a great movie.

There are a lot of people that critize Star Trek: Nemesis for being the worst Star Trek film to date. They are completely wrong. I will admit that are some parts that might seem chessy to a person who has never watched Star Trek but to anyone who has watched Star Trek will understand it. I have watch Star Trek since I was 4 yrs. old and will keep on watching it as long as its on. I believe that this film was well made and has a great story line. If you haven't seen it see it. It has great action sequenses and a bunch of suspense. I recomend it to all.

I actually listened to the reviewers back in December and based on their results, decided to wait till the movie came out on DVD instead of paying $8 at the theatre. I bought the DVD without seeing it and was actually surprised that it was a good movie. Not the best, but good. Patrick Stewart is at his best as Capt. Picard. Brent Spiner was also good as the android Data. Unfortunately, it was way to much a Picard/Data movie and the other actors were more like stand ins. However, they were used to some extent which we should be grateful. The villan played by Tom Hardy was also pretty good, He is no Khan by a long shot but he did pretty well. The special effects were also improved but I still miss ILM. Dont get me wrong, the space battle scene at the end was great to watch with photon torpedoes flying everywhere and the Enterprise taking a pounding.
As for the DVD, its pretty basic but so far the best package to come out on a Star Trek DVD next to The Wrath of Khan Directors Edition. I truly wished the director Stuart Baird would of kept the deleted scenes in the film. I think it added more depth and character to the story(I thought the seatbelt was great). Oh well, maybe in two years, Paramount will release a Directors Cut. Over all, I give the movie *** out of ****. A Star Trek fan will add it to his or her collection.Was this review helpful? OK - The space battle is pretty good. But leading up to it we get a wedding between Troi and Riker, which is sickeningly precious and self impressed. Then there is a long run of Picard facing his inner angst and rage at discovering his clone. This bit goes on way too long. Ive watched this DVD 5 or 6 times now, and I have never made it past the 40 minute point without falling sound asleep. On the other hand, if you are suffering insomnia, this movie may be good for what ails you.
For what its worth, Ive been a ST fan for more than 30 years, and certainly there are a few worse ST movies. I think its time to put this franchise out to pasture - and this picture makes a good case for doing just that. Its dead, Jim!Was this review helpful? Yes - NoGreat Movie
This Star Trek film is more greater then the other two films,good acting,good plot, even Data sings. Also the caraters has growing up science the last film. The only thing that I did not like was they did not have The Borg in this film.

When I went to see the movie in theaters, I was dissapointed. The entire thing was dissapointing, and went against the Star Trek message that our heroes dont always have to resort to violence. It didnt even acknowledge two loose ends left by the series or the movies. The wedding was short, no character development other than that really, plus the whole darn thing is focused on Picard and Data. Gates McFadden, for example, only had six lines. So I prayed for deleted scenes on the DVD.
The featurettes and deleted scenes were quite truthfully, not worth my money. Sure, the picture and sound is good, but the movie and the features make this one a renter.Was this review helpful? Yes - No
