Not bad for the final voyage of the Star

I actually listened to the reviewers back in December and based on their results, decided to wait till the movie came out on DVD instead of paying $8 at the theatre. I bought the DVD without seeing it and was actually surprised that it was a good mov...ie. Not the best, but good. Patrick Stewart is at his best as Capt. Picard. Brent Spiner was also good as the android Data. Unfortunately, it was way to much a Picard/Data movie and the other actors were more like stand ins. However, they were used to some extent which we should be grateful. The villan played by Tom Hardy was also pretty good, He is no Khan by a long shot but he did pretty well. The special effects were also improved but I still miss ILM. Dont get me wrong, the space battle scene at the end was great to watch with photon torpedoes flying everywhere and the Enterprise taking a pounding. As for the DVD, its pretty basic but so far the best package to come out on a Star Trek DVD next to The Wrath of Khan Directors Edition. I truly wished the director Stuart Baird would of kept the deleted scenes in the film. I think it added more depth and character to the story(I thought the seatbelt was great). Oh well, maybe in two years, Paramount will release a Directors Cut. Over all, I give the movie *** out of ****. A Star Trek fan will add it to his or her collection. Read more Less

I liked it all the way. I wish the DVD had all the extra scenes added to them in the flow of the film instead as a bonus feature. Oh well. WATCH this movie it was good.

This movie is done in the great TNG fashion with all the twists and plucky comic relief that we have come to enjoy about Star Trek: The Next Generation. The movie nemesis is a great film and definately recommended for all TNG lovers alike.

Poorly written, with a horrendous nemesis makes this a rather low pick among the ten Star Trek movies.

I think this movie was great! And I wish there would be more. Everything seemed so real, just like the other movies. There is great special effects, and the intelligence and the music fit so perfectly.

This was a Great Star Trek film, it had alot of action and a decent plot for Star Trek. It was better then Insurrection.

Star Trek The Next Generation Goes Out In Glory

Pros: Shocking and disturbing

Star Trek The Next Generation began on the silver screen in a sad way and ended even sader.Odd for such a positive and hopeful TV show but 'Nemesis' is a high quality,well written movie.It deals with Picard and Data both having clones-both of... which are (in different ways) not as knowledgable as they could be about the truth.And the truth is the Romulans and their villianous neighbors the Remans are in conflict and Picards clone Shinzon is behind it all.This movie is full of disturbing imagry as well as some happy.Riker and Troi wed at last (even if she's mentally raped by Shinzon later on) and Data finds another twin in B-4 who,alas is just as misguided as his other twin Lore was.Sad part is that in order to save the crew ala Spoke Data...well he dies,left only with B-4 having a few of his memories.This movie is all about endings,change and letting go of anger and it is apparent that this (plus the funereal TV series Enterprise) that this movie is something of an end to Star Trek as an entity.Which is sad because if we ever needed hope for a secure future we sure need it now.
