    Pros: Microsoft OS, hideaway keyboard

    Cons: there are plenty......

Though the phone is sleek and stylish, there are so many issues. Being completely honest, the fact that you cant send phone to phone picture mail is ridiculous...especially considering the price of this phone. Though the phone comes internet ready, ...there are times that it freezes up and cant be corrected unless the phone is reset. With Technical support not only do you have a long wait time, but once they pick up you have to request a special dept. that handles this make and model of phone and wait even longer until they answer. Word to the Wise: If you do decide to purchase this phone, insure that you purchase a mini SD card on the exact same day; or else your setting yourself up for disappointment. Read more Less

Pros: slideaway keyboard feature is nice

Cons: Too many steps to ge to functions

Its a slick device but many of the functions take too long to get to. Had to download a driver from verizon to be able to send pictures thru the phone to other phones. Why sprint couldn't set it up for thier customers is rediculous.

    Damn...Someone could have warned me

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 29, 2006 | 5 out of 7 found this Sprint Nextel PPC-6700 review helpful

Pros: Internet, Email, Video recorder, Windows..Microsoft Word and Excel, all it ONE!

Cons: REDIALS ALL THE TIME, No Nice Ringtones, Battery, that Damn Stylus,

Well when i first saw this phone i fell in love with it. I thought that it was going to be one the greatest purchases, aside from my car, that I had ever made...boy was i wrong! I mean dont get me wrong it is very convenient to have the internet, ema...ils, camera, video rcorder and all that at the palm of your hand, even get to text messagemy friends faster and better then before BUT...there are just a few things that are starting to PISS ME OFF....first off the phone redials all the time. You can only avoid it if you lock the phone BUT when you lock the phone you can't get any imcoming phone calls, what the hell is that about? Anyways, sometimes it freezes up but that is not abnormal because regular PCs do that too. Another thing i dislike is that i paid so much money for a nice looking phone and i want nice ringtones too, unfortunately you can only use the ringtones that are provided with t he phone, which by the way SUCK! And the stylus is really small....but aside from that..overall...i like the phone..oh yeah..except for the fact that i had to pay an arm and a leg to replace the cracked screen. Man...like i said OVERALL it is an alright phone. Read more Less

    My First PDAPhone

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 20, 2006 | 4 out of 5 found this Sprint Nextel PPC-6700 review helpful

    Pros: Keyboard, windows mobile

Cons: Voice Quality, lack of voice dialing, lack of messaging software, stylus

I once carried around a cell phone and pda. It was suggested to me to convert to a smartphone. I finally have and am enjoying the experience. Pros: The keyboard is great. Having a pdaphone makes it almost necessary to have one. Makes it easy to compo...se email, text messages, word docs, etc. Seems sturdy. Windows Mobile - Is great. I can keep important Word and Excel files always accessible. Calendar and Contacts are integrated within the phone and email features. Very easy to set up email. I use Yahoo Mobile in conjuction with windows mobile to keep a back up of my calendar and contacts. Cons: the sound quality sucks. I use my headset almost always and the sound is ALOT better. ALSO, this may be the smallest stylus I have ever used, and it often falls out. I finally lost it a day ago. I wont even bother to use the spare that comes with the unit. Read more Less

Great tool for my job as an Appraiser

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 14, 2006 | 2 out of 3 found this Sprint Nextel PPC-6700 review helpful

    Pros: Love the camera

    Cons: short battery life

I am a RE Appraiser and purchased this phone as my appraisal software has a product that would run on it. The camera was a nice bonus and I use it now instead of the expensive digital camera that I had purchased to do my appraisal pictures with. Th...e phone reception could use some improvement as could the battery life, but over all I am well pleased and love it. Read more Less

What is a phone for? To make calls.. right?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 10, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this Sprint Nextel PPC-6700 review helpful

    Pros: IT's A PDA

Cons: screen calibration always goes off, feels like a brick in my pocket, always redials in pocket, very bulky, must use two hands to make calls

What is the purpose of a phone? to make calls.. correct? I Purchased it in April thinking that my life would get more organized, able to surf the web using wifi and dialup, organize using schedule, use MS Mobile products etc etc.. It did that, bu...t there were other unforseen nightmares. F irst of all, the phone when it's in your pocket always calls on it's own. It redials, or calls someone in your contact list without you knowing it. I guess you could lock the screen before you put into your pocket, but it's difficult to do that ALL THE TIME( sometimes you're in such a rush..) but being a touch screen, it's VERY SENSITIVE and always makes calls in your pocket. Unlike phones like blackjack, motoq, where you have to physically press a button. Secondly, I don't know if this happened to anyone else, but when it was in my pocket, the touch screen calibration would go way off, and when I needed to make a call, it would be totally off.. when i pressed 1 it would press 3 and so on.. so I would have to recalibrate this thing, but GET THIS...The real pisser is that since it's soo off, the recalibration would not work either.IT WOULD NOT RECALIBRATE.. Hence, trying to make a call, I would sit there trying to recalibrate the screen for 45 minutes, but it would not recalibrate since it's WAY OFF.. So I couldn't make calls period.. It happened frequently.. and I was thinking.. dang, what is a purpose of a phone? Phone is to make calls, not sit there trying to recalibrate.. only way it would recalibrate is if i sync ed with my computer.. had to wait till i got home to sync then finally make that call.. It's also very bulky in your pocket. feels like you're carrying a brick in your pocket. Had tons of comments from friends like, hey where did you get that phone, it reminds me of the 1989 motorola. that thing is huge.. etc. it hurt me since I paid soo much for the phone.. Oh, and I experienced the stylus disappearing like the other reviewers.. At times when I was able to make calls since the calibration was not screwed up, it's very difficult to make one handed calls.. I recommend pplz who frequently calls to get a phone with actual buttons like the moto Q. yeah, the key pad was good.. it had wifi, touch screen.. microsoft programs. but that DID NOT make the phone any better. Phone RECEPTION.. good luck.. many complaints from friends in the other end.. they couldn't hear me, or they heard lots of background noise.. one of the worst voice clarity I've ever encountered. It also has a rubber joystick in the middle.. the rubber piece falls off.. I had two ppc6700 and it fell off on both. Bottom line. I had two ppc 6700 thinking the replacement would be better but... A phone, is first and foremost a phone.. 1.you need to be able to make calls 2.you need clarity in the sound from both ends 3. it should be somewhat sleek to fit into your pocket nicely 4. you should be able to operate it with one hand. then all the other jazzy stuff like outlook, email, ms mobile office, etc.. but it couldn't fulfill any of the 4 basic requirements that ALL PHONES SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO.. This phone left SUCH a BAD TASTE IN MY Mouth.. NEVER AGAIN, AUDIOVOX.. NEVER AGAIN.... Hopefully the ppc6800 is alot better.. anyhow, I complained like a monster to sprint, and chanaged to MOTO Q, and I couldn't be happier.. it surpassed the four basic requirements.. I'm just happy that I can make calls with a phone.. Stick with the big names that's been making phones for a while.. you can't go wrong with them.. they were around this long for a reason.. And if you own the ppc6700, hope you are having a better experience than I had. Read more Less

    nice unit

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 6, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this Sprint Nextel PPC-6700 review helpful

Pros: excellent use of office programs

Cons: programs do not shut themselves down

I really enjoy my ppc even if it is my second unit. So far this one has less bugs in it than my 1st. The staff of the sprint stores are excellent in regards to support. The idea of having to remember to manually close all programs after I use th...em is still bothering me. The inability to share pictures and videos is a huge problem since my sales people and I send back and forth for trouble shooting clients sites. With a 1 gig memory card it has not locked up yet in 3 weeks. I still recommend this product for not only CEO's and Managers but also for regular joes who need time management and office tools. If you like music, videos and movies, keep a few memory cards on hand Read more Less

    Are you kidding me?!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 12, 2006 | 2 out of 4 found this Sprint Nextel PPC-6700 review helpful

    Pros: It looks nice

Cons: Way to many features. You have to hit your phone with a stick

I cannot believe anyone would rate this phone at 4 and a half stars. I supose if you are a techie geek you might love it. But if you are a traveling salesperson who needs to mutlitask while using a PHONE you will hate it. The device has 2500 features... and I use 5 of them. My company makes me use it and I'm truly thinking about switching jobs. It constantly redails the last number called unsless you have it on lock. You will need to load voice comand for all phone number or else be prepared to use the stylis whiel motoring downthe road. And good luck with the voice promt working acuratly all the time. Like all pocket PC's the keyboard is set up for a mouse. You will not be able to open attachements on your e-mail. Get a nice phone dedicated to makeing phone calls and carry your laptop. Sheesh.
