Sponge is a Detroit-based alternative hard rock band featuring vocalist Vinnie Dombrowski, Mike Cross, Joe Mazzola, Tim Cross, and Jimmy Paluzzi. For their 1994 debut Rotting Pinata, the group adopted the sound and image of Stone Temple Pilots, which resulted in the alternative rock hit "Plowed" in early 1995.
