Excellent Classic!!! The orginal great g
This movie was the original gladitor classic, in which the recent movie story is similar to this one. Kurt Douglas was great and Tony Curtis shows why he always got the girls. Anyway, this movie will always be the best cause of Spartacus's heroism and sacrifice in the end toward freedom for the gladitors.

I need not mention much about this film because those who have seen it know how great it is and those who haven't better get out of the cave. Anyway, this Criterion DVD carries a heavy price tag, but is worth each and every dollar. Plenty of fantastic features that will keep you busy for days. Unlike some features these ones are actually interesting and relate to the film. As if that wasn't enough...the picture and sound is MARVELOUS! I remember sitting through the horrible TV viewings and seeing all the blemishes, but this DVD stands out as Pristine as ever! Thanks Criterion for once again preserving a part of film history!

Unforgettable duel scene (Woody Strode v Douglas) and gladiators mass escape captures the grim ferocity of close combat. negative is lack of memorable soundtrack.

A classic Stanley Kubrick movie, one to admire and appreciate forever. I recommend this movie to fans of Braveheart and Gladiator, since this movie helped inspired them. This film is one of the better Kubrick movies!

highly underated roman adventure over shadowed by the charlton heston classic ben-hur. classic kubrick film, with douglas giving his best performance since paths of glory. this movie has it all..... and gladiators, gladiators, GLADIATORS!
