Sparrow House is the solo project of Jared Van Fleet, guitarist/keyboardist of Austin, Texas band Voxtrot. His softspoken songwriting is more comparable to Elliott Smith than the upbeat indie pop of Voxtrot. When not busy with the band, Van Fleet planned to record four EPs within a year, each one corresponding to a season. The first release, Falls (gathered from material from his honors thesis at the University of Texas), was available in March 2007.
