    South of Heaven may not be Slayer's best album, but with songs like Silent Scream, South of Heaven, Ghosts of War, Live Undead, and Mandatory Suicide, this album still packs a good ol' punch. 5 stars.

    Slayer are not gods, check out some Megadeth or some early Metallica(Lightning or Puppets) for the best musicmanship in the thrash genre.

    this album showed how great of a band they were. sure its slow compared to the previous albums they put out before but this is a classic.

    This is probably one of my favorite Slayer albums. It kicks ass, it has a lot of good songs on it but then of course so do most of Slayer's albums. This would probably be a good introductory album for someone just starting to listen to Slayer, becaus...e it's sort of a laid back album. Read more Less

    A Classic Slayer Album, and as far as dr

    This album shows the unique style of Dave Lombardo that needs to be heard by drummers of all styles of music. His is stylistically unsurpassed by any drummer in this genre. As far as the album, it is my favorite album behind the obvious number one ...choice of Reign in Blood. That's the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five. Though not as fast as Reign, the songwriting is very mature, and the songs are still intense. My favorite tracks are "Ghosts of War", "Behind the Crooked Cross", and "Read Between the Lies". Another definite must for all true fans of the heavy stuff. Read more Less

    I really like this album, but i don`t think it`s as good as for instance Session... show no... and God hates... But it is a brilliant album you`ve gotta have!!

    By far, "South of Heaven" was a defining moment in Slayer's illustrious career of making parents nervous and kids impressing their friends.. EVIL music...if you don't like Slayer, I would imagine it is way too evil for you... Every track on this CD r...ocks...the guitar duo of Hannaman and KERRY KING rock! Technically, its not as fast as previous albums, but who cares? They still rock and South of Heaven is by far one of their best, if not one of the best metal albums ever. Read more Less
