Shawn Mullins, through his music has not only captured the essence of what it is to be alive, but he brings it down to a level that everyone can relate to.
Soul's Core is just that, it gets down to your soul and lets it free.
He truly has a one of a kind outlook on the world, and he understands what it means to be free...
Without a doubt one of the greatest albums ever recorded, one for the history books to look back on and say this is what it meant to live then.

It captured my soul

I am Spanish and here in Spain Shawn Mullins isn't famous at all. I had just heard Shimmer before I bought the album, but nobody else I know knows him anyway. I found the CD and bought it straight away, and I was just taken to a higher level of music, I found truth and soulfulness in all the lyrics. It is one of the best albums I've ever heard. I really love Twin Rocks, and Ballad of Billy Jo McKay, they're absulotely wonderful. I just hope I can find the rest of Shawn's albums too, cos I think it will be pretty difficult to buy them here in Spain.

Nice to hear music back to its roots

Shawn Mullin has really created a great CD, he has taken chord progressions and transformed them to make the best folk music I have heard for sometime. It is really nice to hear music today that you can actually understand what they are syaing, not this heavy bass and talkin' about "40's and hoes" I love his stories that he tells while haveing some great music in the backround, I hope other artisit will follow his style. Thats why I rate this CD as a 5.

Soulful music

I think that soulscore is one of the best cd:s I`ve ever heard. I especially love Twin rocks,oregon and ballad of billy jo mcain!!! andyhe best thing is that the more you listen to it the more you love it. Everyone should goout and buy souls core now!!!

Music to feed you soul!

Shawn's music has lifted me to a much higher spiritual level. I don't believe I have ever heard a truer or purer voice. His lyrics are moving and poignant and I find myself addicted to listening to all of his music. I encourage everyone to purchase at least one of his CD's and see if you can only purchase just one!

Shawn Mullins is a great musician who's music has touched my heart in so many ways. The love he has put into expressing his music gives it a quality that is hard to find in artists these days. His self written (excluding the song 'Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down') and self produced album is an excellent addition to your cd collection. A talented musician whose success is well deserved.
