I spent almost three months looking forward to this, a comedy by the creator of Sorcerer Hunters with a little more adult humor (due to the OVA factor) and a main character who looks like Dark Schneider from Bastard! and really cute supporting charac...ters. I was expecting Satoru Akahori's traditional hilarious but sweet comedy with a little romance. Well, I was really, really disappointed. This anime seems to concentrate mainly on the subservience of women to "Master" Shibaas, which isn't that bad considering I love Gestalt, however, Shibas is nowhere near the gentle master Olivier is. When they say he's a bastard on the back cover, they mean it--he likes to hit Fizz for no apparent reason. That one scene really, really bothered me. All Shibas did was insult and abuse Fizz, forcing her to table dance for money while he just sat on his lazy butt and got drunk, while Fizz is basically degrading herself willingly, and who accepted it and was calling him "Master" by the end of the anime. I don't think that's funny at all. IF you think that's funny, maybe there's something wrong with you, because violence towards innocent women is never funny, not even in anime. And this isn't the slapstick so-and-so slaps so-and-so for saying something ditzy violence, this is 'how dare you say no to me take that *beep*' violence. This is nowhere near as good as the Sorcerer Hunters manga (the tv series isn't that good). Or Maze, or Saber Marionette J, or any other of Akahori's creations. If you still want to see it, rent it. Did I mention the fanservice? Fizz is almost entirely naked throughout the second episode, and the grabbing of female parts seems to be a constant. I'm not a prude. I don't mind the occasional crude joke. But when it concerns violence and degradation, I draw the line. If you want a kinky, funny series, try the Maze TV. Trust me, you'll be laughing more.
