    Unfortunately there was a misprint on this camera's listing in the Yahoo Shopping digital-camera chart. The chart listed this as a 3x optical plus 3x digital zoom camera. This camera DOES NOT HAVE AN OPTICAL ZOOM!Yes it's my fault for not c...hecking this more thoroughly before the purchase. But I didn't realize it until I had the camera out of the box. The store (OfficeMax) said no refund, no exchange, not even with me paying the price difference for the Zoom camera (P72), because it's a Sony. When I called Sony they said they can't do anything about it.So I had the choice of fighting City Hall (and paying another 100 dollars) or just grin and bear it. I was fascinated with many of the features as I went through the instruction manual. This is a very nice camera even though it doesn't have optical zoom. It is easy to use right out of the box. But with a little guidance from the instruction manual, you have many advanced options at your fingertips. The camera will keep your favoritesettings for the next photo session. It's very easy to review the photos you just took. And you can use the viewfinder with the LCD turned off to stretch battery life. There are two features that set this camera apart from most others in its class. One is its compact size, able to fit in your pocket easily. Another is the batteries. It comes with a pair of 2000 mAH AA NiMH batteries and a charger, and for about 10 dollars you can have another set and keep one with the charger and one in the camera. I'm just getting started, so I can't say much about editing and downloading features. But so far I'm very happy with this camera, even without the optical zoom. Read more Less

    This is a good deal. Under 300 bucks and you get a 3.2 megapixel camer with movie recording capabilities. Comes with re-chargable batteries and a memory stick! What more can U ask. Fits good in my pocket for portablity. Get a bigger mem stick and you... are all set. This camera is best for my money I think. Read more Less

    This camera always turns out good pictures and is awesome. I love how you can take short movies or pictures. With a big enough memory stick (I have a 256mb) you can hold over 160 photos at 3.2 megapixels..on 1.2 you can hold 404 and at vga setting ...which is 640x480 you can hold over a thousand.     I received this camera as a gift. It is absolutely awesome. The fact that it doesn't come with optical zoom is not a problem, because it has the smart zoom feature, which allows cropping and correcting of angles after the picture is taken. This ...allows for quick and spontaneous picture taking without having to fuss with the optical zoom. Also, because it doesn't have the optical zoom, it is more compact and easier to handle and transport. The pictures are incredibly clear and crisp.     This is a great camera for the value. The only reason it received four stars from me is because it does not have an optical zoom feature. Everything else is perfect just as we have learned to expect from Sony. It is easier to use than even the more e...xpensive models because it has more buttons. This is a great camera for teens and its compact design allows them to take it to all of the parties. For adults, its convenient to have with you, but if you want the zoom feature, youre going to have to pay the extra $40 for the P52. This is a great entry level camera. Read more Less

    got this one like 2 weeks ago. really handy size (not too small or not big), really good quality of picture resolution.best thing is you can use this one as a CAMCORDER!!! yeh....with the sound....im having lots of fun with this camera.only thing tha...t i dont like is this one comes with only 16mb memory stick.you need big capacity of memory stick to take pictures and also movie clips. i think at least 128mb..bigger is better( for memory)...hahaif you wanna get 3mega pixel camera for under $250, get this one. you will love it unless you are a profesional photographer.     An Absolutely Outstanding Digital Camera

    Pros: Reasonable price, simple to use, compact, durable, and outstanding picture quality.

    Cons: Does not have an optical zoom

    My wife and I just got back from a mexican riviera cruise, and I took well over 100 pictures. I posted them online for my friends and family to view, and the most frequent response we received was "what camera were you using to take those pictu...res. That says a lot about this camera.I may have taken some better pictures if I had an optical zoom feature, but the megapixel quality made up for the absence of a zoom on most pictures. Not to mention this camera does have a digital smart zoom.Before I went on my vacation I purchased a 256MB memory stick that allows you to take 148 pictures at 3.1M fine quality, and 264 pictures at standard quality.Purchasing this camera is one of the best investments I have ever made.     Pros: Lots of features for the price, great pictures.....

    Cons: Software is not that great, Not enough zoom.

    Complicated camera with all of the modes and buttons. Overall great camera except for the software. Long battery life. Comes with rechargeable batteries and charger.
