Pros: Light weight computer with all of the power of the larger models.

Cons: Only comes with a trial version of MS word.

I love this computer. It has everything that you need in a light weight user friendly package. Many people complain about the noise from the fan but it is NOT loud at all. Like all computers you hear the CD drive spin etc. but it is an awesome comput...er worth every penny of the price tag. Read more Less

    Sony VAIO S360

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 16, 2005 | 6 out of 7 found this Sony VAIO S360 review helpful

    Pros: Size, Speed

    Cons: Price

It is a little pricey, but when I saw it - I had to have it! I have not once regretted it! I wish that the memory slot provided was SD or even CF instead of Sony's Memory Stick (Since I have Canon Digital Cameras!) but other then that, the laptop... is all I could want and more! Read more Less

    Too Much Money?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 9, 2005 | 1 out of 1 found this Sony VAIO S360 review helpful

Pros: Light weight design with a slim case

    Cons: Overpriced for this laptop

I recently purchased the 760 series laptop, with 1.83 ghz,100 GB hard drive, 512 MB od ram, DVD burner & creator, and payed less than $1600. But overall, I believe that truly Sony has some of the best products out there on the market and worth every... penny. Read more Less

    Two Sony computers/ Both Junk

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 24, 2005

Pros: Quick friendly service for the sale

Cons: After it failed to power up/ Sony wanted $450 to repair it.

I bought this computer and had it less than 2 months. I bought the extended warranty and everything. Sony and its affilliate refused to repair it until: I sent it back at my cost, and paid for "something" that wasn't covered under the w...arranty. I did this and finally got my new computer (the same one only refurbished), and less than 30 days it happened again. They wanted me to pay these same fees again....CRAZY. I will never buy Sony anything again. Read more Less

    Don't listen to bael45

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 17, 2005 | 0 out of 1 found this Sony VAIO S360 review helpful

    Pros: Don't have it - don't know

    Cons: Don't have it - don't know

I've given this four stars even though I don't have this laptop - I didn't want to change the average rating. I'm responding to bael45, who despite "years in the IT field" thinks that a 1.7 GHz Pentium M (P-M) is "path...etic". A 1.7 GHz P-M is as powerful as a 2.5 GHz Pentium 4 (P4), and provides excellent battery life for laptops compared to the P4. I have a 1.6 GHz P-M IBM Thinkpad, and I *am* an IT professional, and I've found it excellent for professional work, with only occasional lockups due to trying to do too much. A 1.7 GHz P-M is adequate for everything but very CPU intensive tasks like professional video rendering (where you'd use a powerful Apple PowerMac desktop anyway) Don't be misled by GHz, do some research, and you'll find out that if you must have a Windows PC, get a desktop with an AMD processor, or a laptop with the Pentium M. And pay more than $500 for a quality one. You'll regret it otherwise. Read more Less

    1.7Ghz!?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 9, 2005 | 1 out of 5 found this Sony VAIO S360 review helpful

Pros: it helps someone, somewhere keep his job

    Cons: it's pathetic

A 1.7Ghz laptop? Why not just buy a 386 with 5.25 floopy drive? Sure you can use the Office suite of products, but can it do anything else...? Hell no. I'm surprised they still make CPUs that slow. Unless you are confined to daily Solitaire and M...inesweeper, this laptop is NOT for you. Anything below 2.5Ghz is pretty much barbaric. I wouldn't take it if it was given to me. Sorry, but after years in the IT field, I have grown a bit picky about machines that can barely run a chess game. Not to mention, it has XP...another serioualy bad point about this junk. Read more Less
