A Big Disappointment vs my older RCA DVD recorder

    Pros: None

Cons: Mediocre recorded DVD video quality; takes too long to load and format DVDs

I was so excited when I saw this product - but it faded quickly when I tried to use it. I have an RCA DVD recorder from 2.5 years ago that records INCREDIBLY well, much better color and quality than the Sony. Comparably, the RCA disc formatting is fa...st and efficient (5-7 seconds) - the Sony took 1-2 minutes - which is a pain when you're trying to record something on the fly. The sony might be okay if you have TIVO to offload from, but otherwise don't buy it. I'm out $80.00 for 15% restocking fee to return it and very, very, VERY unhappy. I'll be losing faith in Sony quickly if this keeps up. Read more Less
