    A gaming supercomputer!

By NeilS  Dec 4, 2006 | 36 out of 46 found this Sony PlayStation 3 60GB review helpful

Pros: 2007 games, graphics, blu ray, 60 gb hard drive, free online, wifi built in

Cons: SIXAXIS has no rumble, not many exclusive games

The PS3, its been hailed as the most powerful next gen system. As of right now, I'm not sure but, I could be proven wrong. This is an unbiased review as I own all three next gen systems. Starting with the good, the graphics so far are looking gre...at with 1080p output, it definitely is no comparison to 1080i. A blu ray disc drive will give developers more space to work with than they will ever need. 50 GB! That means huge worlds with room for things never even dreamed of in game. The online system is free but not as good as live and you can't go wrong with built in 802.11 b/g wifi. Also, the hard drive is 60 gb, much bigger than 360's. This makes the ps3 a better system in your family room. You can center everything around it. It'll hold everything you need. Now the bad. The SIXAXIS controller has no rumble a bad mistake. Im also gonna add that it is a bit gimmicky, its there but doesnt really add to the games. On the game part, its got Resistance right now which is great but, many games are going to 360 as ps3 is hard to develop for. Assasins Creed and gta are no longer exclusive and Ive heard Metal Gear might go to 360. So far I think 360 has better graphics (Gears of War) and a better game line up. Ps3 has a great line up too though, Heavenly Sword, MGS4, GT5. Its got potential and it is a must buy for the hard core gamer looking for a gaming powerhouse. Read more Less

    Pros: Everything

Cons: Price and you'll need HDTV

I test drive the new PS3 machine and love it so much. Wounderfully done by Sony and pictures are so crips that you can even see the skin cells, sweat, every little thing. BlueRay movie like MI:III is way ten times better then recent DVD movies. For m...aximum fun you'll need HDTV for pure 1080p picture quality and sound system, expensive but worth it. Read more Less

Pros: Everything!! 8 core cpu runing @ 3.2ghz blue-ray disc, dvd, ps1, ps2 compatible, built in web browser, Harddrive

Cons: price $600 but will be worth it

PS3 is More Than an Ordinary Gaming console With a 3.2ghz 8-core cpu ,60 gb harddrive ,web browser and supports multiple video, photo, and audio formats to be saved on the harddrive. The PS3 is more like an Computer with its 8 core cpu by the way whi...ch isn't availble for home computers yet. Graphics as powerful as an nividia 7800gtx. blu-ray,dvd,ps1,ps2 compatible, blue tooth wireless controllers. and a very sexy interface. Read more Less

    PS3 may be the best

    By argetlam247  Feb 19, 2007 | 5 out of 6 found this Sony PlayStation 3 60GB review helpful

    Pros: Everything

    Cons: Price

This is and will always be the best system until PS4 comes out. The Cell Broadband processor is amazing, and the blu-ray makes it even better. Some people think the price is outragous, but here is why its not: you basically get a blu-ray player, a ps...3, ps2, ps1, DVD player, HD DVD player, cd player, computer, and a media center. Wow thats alot for only $600, seeing that just a blu-ray player is $1000. The games are $60 because the disc's are blu-ray and you are getting full 1080p HD out of them. PS3 beats Wii and 360 because Wii can't even dream of having full HD, it only supports 480p. 360's processor is only half as powerful as the PS3 and Wii is almost as powerful as the 360. The PS3 has triple the hard drive space, and the Wii is even less than the 360. Also the PS3 has MemoryStick/
    SD/
CompactFlash Slots, the Wii just has SD and the 360 has none, but one thing they all have are USB ports which is good. The PS3 has built in Wi-Fi and the 360 does not, also PS3 online is FREE, 360 can't do that, Wii online is also free but if you dont have wireless internet, you have to buy a USB to LAN adapter from nintendo for $25.

    Pros: MY GOD EVERY THING

    Cons: PRICE

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST HOME VIDEO GAME EVER MADE. GRAPHIC, SOUND, CONTROL EVERY THING ABOUT THIS SYSTEM ROCKS. THE PRICE IS A LITTLE HIGH, BUT WHEN YOU WANT THE BEST YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. IF THIS IS OUT OF YOUR PRICE RANGE TRY ANOTHER SYSTEM ANYTH...ING BUT THE WII. WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME UNLESS YOUR 2 YRS OLD. AND EVEN THEN YOU'LL GROW OUT OF THE WII IN 6 MONTH Read more Less

    Pros: Free Online Play

    Cons: None

The best thing in PS2 and PS3 is that they offer free online play..unlike xbox 360 where you have to buy the service...THATS WHAT I LOVED ABOUT PS2 and thats what want froom PS3.

Expensive but a bargain for what it is.

    By Dick C  Jul 14, 2007 | 2 out of 2 found this Sony PlayStation 3 60GB review helpful

Pros: Great graphics, blu-ray player/dvdplayer hdmi and wi-fi ready, and internet browsing capable. Sony's online gaming free

Cons: Price and limited games right now

The PS3 is a great system although it does come with a price. But a Blu-ray player alone would cost about as much or more than the price of the PS3. The reason the PS3 is so expensive is becuase its basically a computer. How many good computers can y...ou find for under 500 dollars, especially ones with a 3.2 ghz processor? The PS3 has internet browsing capabilities, wi-fi, HDMI, a 60 gig hardrive, great graphics for the games, and backwards compatible with PS2 and PS1 games. It does seem to run hot but I've been running mine in Iraq for about 5 months and it hasn't overheated on me. I do have ac in my room but being here there is an excessive amount of dust in the air. I think that by having it here Im putting it to the test and so far its passed with flying colors. Read more Less
