While inheriting the basic functions and design philosophy of PlayStation 2 (SCPH-50000), the internal design architecture of PlayStation 2 (SCPH-70000 CB series) has been completely overhauled, resulting in a slimmer and more lightweight form. Internal volume has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved, and thickness trimmed down to 2.8 cm (thickness of current model is 7.8cm). Its size is almost as small as a hardcover book, making it easier to carry around and enjoy games and DVD videos anytime, anywhere.

Equipped with an integrated Ethernet port for network gaming, the new PlayStation 2 sets new standards in the fusion of design and functionality.

Pros: very slim and can cary anywhere
Cons: stops working very quickly
we just bought the new slim ps2 in march of this year and it is already not working. i was told that it does not work as good as the larger ps2 because it does not have a fan. our console is not able to play any new games just old ones. i would only ...recomend getting the larger ps2 not the small one. unless you want to keep calling to get it replaced every few months.we still have the lager one and it works so much better that the smaller on and we have had it for almost 3 years with no problems Read more Less

Pros: Very Light and Not Bulky
Cons: For me there is NONE!
I just bought my PS2 slim last February of this year and never did I encounter any peoblems with it, I also bought a mini fan to be inserted on the USB port so it will not overheat. I use my PS2 for 10 hours with 30 minutes rest every 4 hours. No bre...akdowns, no hang ups, no overheating, no spoilers!!! just pure games and it was truly amazing! My greatest secret is that I still have a small fan blowing the side of my PS2 and I also use a vertical stand for fast loading........(^___^) Read more Less
