    This little handheld is wonderful! It processes MP3's with ease, the color screen is also WAY impressive, and lets not forget the most important part--the PDA. I keep everything in my CLIE, my important dates, meetings, memos to myself, as well a...s e-mails and videos. The Microsoft word and Excel were also helpful for school as well as work. Word to the wise, shop around for a lower price, it's a wonderful PDA but don't spend $500.00 for it. Remember it's like everything else, when it's out on the market long enough, the price will go down. Read more Less

    Quality, Lower-Priced Palm Alternative

    Pros: Hi-res color screen, great battery life, Memory Stick/MP3 feature, bundled software

    Cons: Furnished Palm 4.1 Desktop not useable with my laptop; shiny finish collects smudges

    I was turned on to the Clie line by another reviewer's comments, and found them to be true: Clies are a feature-filled, lower-priced alternative to Palm's Tungsten PDAs. Especially with the recent (late-2003) price drops, this Clie is a barga...in. The color screen is bright (I've used the SJ33 as a flashlight!) and useable with the protective screen down and JogDial instead of stylus. Text resolution is crisp. Battery life is excellent w/fast recharges. Sony provides great bundled software (including Documents To Go by DataViz), and the MP3-plus-Memory Stick feature saved me from buying a separate MP3 player. I did buy Iambic's Agendus to expand the built-in PIM functions on SJ33 and laptop, and also Chapura's PocketMirror to transfer all my MS Outlook data into Agendus on both computers. (G'bye, Outlook!)On the con side, I couldn't load the Palm 4.1 onto my W2K laptop, but by Googling found a solution (download/use the Palm 4.0.1 software from Sony's site) that Sony customer support agreed with. Also, unlike Palm's matt finish, the SJ33 has a shiny finish that attracts smudges and probably scratches. Read more Less
