The best of its time
Pros: Sound quality, high volume, metallic body with varied metallic colours, good headphones...
Cons: The SonicStage software is a bit slow...And the back of the body has started to rust a little
I tuk up a new one of the NW-E507 in 2005. The price was affordable during that year abt $180. Itz a must have Sony product and the sound is amazing... The headphones create the best bass and treble effects I've ever heard... The volume can be turned on really high... Itz the smallest kind of the series and is much more portable than any other mp3 player... The battery is amazing too as it plays continuous 50 hrs of muzik under safe mode conditions... In the standby mode the player goes on with itz battery life for a long time... Once I locked 'em in my cupboard and to my surprise I found that after a month..tht it had a little less than half of the total power left... The features are good and tuk me abt a half an hour's reading to get sumthin abt itz working and features as the barrel type was one my firsts... But the software Sonicstage is slower when compared to odde softwares and I have noticed tht the back of the player and the barrel has started to rust a little due to humid conditions... My country is wet half the year.. :) But in overall.. I loved this one of a type gadget... But after almost 2 or 3 months after I bought the NW_E507..the new Sony Sports Walkman came out with abt the same price...

Pros: Sleek, looks awesome
Cons: software is bad.
You cannon add songs that you have just like that. You have to convert them with the software the mp3 came with, and that takes a while. Besides from that, this thing is awesome, it looks great, it sounds great and it is not that expensive.

I always buy sony because of the quality and their products lasts so long. I love this MP3 player, and would recommend it over the ipod, but the sonicstage program could be better and also the headphones.

When my Sony S-50 finally konked out last year I looked to buy another Sony, and one with a gig of space, so I got this one over the Bean, due to size and the raving over the awesome 3-line "electroluminescent&
quot; screen. Yeah it's nice looking, until you go outside and it becomes completely unreadable. But I didn't care too much as I could set it to 'shuffle' and not need to see what was playing while I was working out.
So the first time I take it out it becomes apparent the factory belt clip sucks, and Sony didn't have anything else available to I had to get one from England on E-bay that goes around my neck, which took some getting used to, but it was ok. Then I think 1 drop of sweat got on it and it went into perpetual rewind mode, which I could only undo by letting it dry out. This happened 4 or 5 times. The last week it's been doing crazy things...every button makes it go to FM radio mode, and it won't go back. To sum it up I'm going to return it and get an IPod shuffle.Was this review helpful? Pros: Great Display, Battery Life, Radio & Tremendous Portability

THE GOOD:
The display is beautiful and very luminous. The menus are easy to navigate thru and so is the FM radio. Its radio can be set to include 20 preset FM stations. Its battery life is worth all the hype - It gets up to 50 hours of playback (if you are playing ATRAC3 Audio Formats). Its very small- like the size of a medium portable USB device. It also brings a nicely designed clip that clip to the Mp3 Player and attach to your belt, jeans, purse etc.
Its overall features and design is one unmatched.
THE BAD & THE UGLY:
It brings a crappy software to import its music called SonicStage. Inside SonicStage it also includes the CONNECT music store whose downloads cannot be found anywhere on the computer except in SonicStage therefore it can't transferred to Windows Media Player or RealPlayer - unless you burn a CD using SonicStage.Was this review helpful? I have many sony products but this product bis the best, i have a psp and cd player, but none of them compareto this. It is so easy to handle and will not seem to brake. Sonicstage is very bad, it gos so slow and takes very long to get music from one place to another. It was definetly worth the money i paid for it, and so easy to work, my little brother could woork it nand he is only 8. Not to mention the radio that i say is the best radio to come from an mp3 player. I definitly suggest it to new buyers of mp3 players.

Pros: Small, excellent sound, durable.
Cons: The software is so slow
I tried several of the hard drive units, I needed more battery power, this Sony delivers. I hav dropped it a few times on concrete, no scratches an no damage, I use noise cancelling earphones and the sound is beautiful and loud.But it can take hours to delete songs and add new ones thats frustrating. I luv the displays, time and date, or song title and artist, or bubbles. My buddy got the ipod, when his dad was looking for one to buy he told him to get the Sony.I play MP3's but I tried converting some songs to Atrac and they sounded just as good. If u buy an Apple u will be sorry, if u buy this sony, you will love it.
