    A Stylish, Sleep Shuffle-killer

    Pros: Beautiful and stylish. Easy to navigate and control. Has Radio with excellent reception. Easy to read 3 line display.

    Cons: SonicStage software not intuitive and slow.

    This is an excellent offering from Sony. It plays .mp3 as well as .wma. Its bright 3line display along with radio feature distinguish this from apple's Shuffle, which has neither. It is very easy to use with one hand, and the volume goes extremel...y loud. Not to mention that this is definitely the most beautiful mp3 player that I have seen. It looks like a shiny, silver cigarrette lighter. The only downside is the SonicStage software that comes with it. It is very slow and not organized. If you are considering a flash player with 1gb memory, this is the one to buy. It is the best looking. It has a useable and informative 3line display. It has a radio. Read more Less

    Pros: Sound quality, look, display, etc..

    Cons: The headphones are horrible

    Don't get discouraged the software is not that bad (it's not that good either)! It worked with all my downloaded files when I moved them over from Windows Media Player and I've had no problems. The unit itself is very sleek and puts out g...reat sound. There are no preset equlizers but you really don't need them, the sound is that good. Very quick charge and the battery keep going and going and... well you get the picture. This is my second MP3 and it is everything and more than I expected. Plus, the built in radio is the best I have heard on a MP3 before. If you are thinking about an iPod then check this unit out before and it will change your mind.     Pros: excellent sound, sleek and futuristic looking

    Cons: cumbersome software

    I have never had an MP3 player before. After a considerable comparision I bought the last unit at the mall near Chicago. The sound quality is astounding, the features are easy to use and the machine performs like a charm. The head phones were cheesy,... I agree, yet I had a bunch of other Sony small head phones that fit...what a great buy...I think, I will have an excellent use with this player. The radio has a clear, pristine reception, God bless for the NPR every where you go. Besides, when you think about it, you can charge this little devil anywhere in the world via the USB jack of any computer...that is awesome. Overall, Sony has proven one more time that it has a standard for quality, after all. Read more Less

    i found the sony mp3 player brill! i got it in pink too- it rocks! the only bad thing is it is only 1G but all the same i haven't filled it up yet!! i received it from my dad as a lil pressie n thought it was gr8! i have loads of songs on it now ...and they play with no problem. the volume doesnt go very loud but i suppose it doesnt damage your hearing this way!! i would definetly recommend this player to anyone- mostly young people that wont have TOO many songs to download to it! thanks!!!     Pros: Small, excellent sound, durable.

    Cons: The software is so slow

    I tried several of the hard drive units, I needed more battery power, this Sony delivers. I hav dropped it a few times on concrete, no scratches an no damage, I use noise cancelling earphones and the sound is beautiful and loud.But it can take hours ...to delete songs and add new ones thats frustrating. I luv the displays, time and date, or song title and artist, or bubbles. My buddy got the ipod, when his dad was looking for one to buy he told him to get the Sony.I play MP3's but I tried converting some songs to Atrac and they sounded just as good. If u buy an Apple u will be sorry, if u buy this sony, you will love it. Read more Less

    Cons: LED is unreadable, no drag and drop capability.

    i got this item in august 2005 but what a disappointment! although the appearance looks great, it's got so many usablity issues that i eventually returned it. until sony fixes those issues, it won't become a killer product. 1. the LED is imp...ossible to read under the nature light. 2. there is no drag and drop capability so it's very difficult to import the songs. although sony's support claimed there is a way around it, but it did not work out for me after quite a few attempts. 3. it does not support foreign languages. 4. the battery is charged only through the computer.     Pros: small easy to use,great screen,lots of memory for price

    Cons: a little hard to understand downloading instructions but possible

    The best of its time

    Pros: Sound quality, high volume, metallic body with varied metallic colours, good headphones...

    Cons: The SonicStage software is a bit slow...And the back of the body has started to rust a little

    I tuk up a new one of the NW-E507 in 2005. The price was affordable during that year abt $180. Itz a must have Sony product and the sound is amazing... The headphones create the best bass and treble effects I've ever heard... The volume can be tu...rned on really high... Itz the smallest kind of the series and is much more portable than any other mp3 player... The battery is amazing too as it plays continuous 50 hrs of muzik under safe mode conditions... In the standby mode the player goes on with itz battery life for a long time... Once I locked 'em in my cupboard and to my surprise I found that after a month..tht it had a little less than half of the total power left... The features are good and tuk me abt a half an hour's reading to get sumthin abt itz working and features as the barrel type was one my firsts... But the software Sonicstage is slower when compared to odde softwares and I have noticed tht the back of the player and the barrel has started to rust a little due to humid conditions... My country is wet half the year.. :) But in overall.. I loved this one of a type gadget... But after almost 2 or 3 months after I bought the NW_E507..the new Sony Sports Walkman came out with abt the same price... Read more Less
