The battery that came with my camera lasted 2 years. For a regular ol' rechargable that might not be bad, but this is supposed to be smart -- charging intelligently in a way that will prevent it from acquiring a memory and keep the battery working as long as you don't physically damage it. At least, this is the propaganda. My camera has been used only with the power cord, without a battery for about 2 years because I cannot bring myself to spend $50-$75 for a replacement battery that advertises right on the package that it never gets a 'memory' when this is what in fact happened. ...
