Pros: Has an excellent added height adjustment to the zoom modes.

Cons: no 3rd HDMI if that concerns you. viewing angle minor annoyance on std def.

This 40 inch 720P/1080i is execellent if you do not want to move off of std def anytime soon. I live in Raleigh, NC area and the local major networks broadcast their prime time shows mostly in HD that's included in the std cable pkg. Excellent pi...cture in HD. Std def is about as good as old school large screen tv's (non-HD ones). The 40 inch wide screen gives you a 33 in. 4:3 aspect old school picture. Not bad at all and great compared to my 27 inch old tv. But the great feature to this tv for std def and the multiple wide screen aspects on dvd's is its additional height adjustment mode for its two zoom modes. In wide zoom and zoom modes, you can go into the screen adjustment menu and when you select a zoom mode another vertical size adjustment option appears. It lets you shrink the height on the zoom mode and lets you stretch higher the wide zoom mode. This lets you remove the "fat" people look that so many other HD tv's have. For us it was worth the price difference. Staying on std cable saves many bux. Read more Less
