It's here. A Cyber-shot digital camera and a small and sophisticated feature-packed 3G mobile phone all in one. Open the lens cover and you're ready to take the picture. Bring the K800i with you and you have a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, built-in xenon flash and image and video stabilizer function ready for any moment, anytime. And a 3G phone for sharing your pictures. Instantly.

With the K800i, it's hard to take a bad picture. Get the picture you want with BestPic. The unique thing about this feature is that 4 of the resulting images were shot immediately before the camera key is pressed to complete the shot, and 4 immediately after. Pick the best. Delete the rest.

A built-in xenon flash unit gives you real photographic light where lighting conditions are not optimal and the K800i eliminates red eye making sure that the pictures you take are simply the best. A camera stabilizer function compensates any small movement of your hand when you're taking a picture and shooting video.

When you've taken a photo, you can share it straight away using Bluetooth, multimedia messaging or blog it. Take a photo, add text and send it to a blog site. The site is created the first time you blog a photo and in return get a text message with the Web address and log in data. Send the address to friends and share your life in pictures.

On each side of the 2" QVGA color screen you have photo keys to make using your K800i camera phone easy. For printing, the K800i supports the PictBridge standard. Connect the phone directly to a PictBridge-compliant printer using the USB cable and print your photos without a PC.

The Highest Quality Camera Phone I Ever Used!

By Victor  Aug 15, 2006 | 32 out of 37 found this Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-shot review helpful

Pros: 3.2 MP Camera with Xenon Flash, High Quality Display, Bluetooth, 3G, Video Call, Relatively Long Battery Life

Cons: Video Call Function Is Not Be Able To Use In The US, Price Still Has Room To Decrease

This is the first Sony Ericsson brand mobile phone which with built in 3.2 Megapixel Digital Camera. It is also one of the Sony Ericsson phone with the Sony CyberShot Technology. I have used this phone for about a week, its high quality display, 16x ...digital zoom, with the auto-focus and Xenon flash (The flash that usually built-in to Digital Cameras), with the BestPic function, the pictures taken almost as good as a low-end digital camera, video quality also clear, with FM Radio, music player, video playback, video editor, I should have no complaint for this! The most amazing thing in this phone is the 3G support, 3G is the latest GSM Technology and has been widely used by many major countries in Europe and Asia, like in South Korea, you must have a 3G mobile phone in order to use there. Video Call function may let you have a new feel contacting the world! In Addition to the 3.2 Megapixel digital camera, it has a VGA camera built-in just on the front side, you can use this camera for video conference. Can you imagine what is you feel if you talking face-to-face each other, even both of you has thousands of miles of distance? Only thing I feel disappointed is the 3G technology in the US has not yet been completely and widely used, the only company that has 3G, Cingular, only provides Cingular Video to allow contract customers to pay appropiate monthly fees to watch TV programs, like HBO, CNN, etc. The 3G coverage is very spotty, too. Only a few metropolitan cities have 3G network coverage at this time, of course, the video call function may not be used in the short future. This is still a best camera phone I never seen even though some function like video call cannot be used in the country. If you like take best picture, but don't want to buy an digital camera, this phone is absoulutely your choice! Read more Less

A true (not wanna be) digital camera cell phone

By Ben  Nov 19, 2006 | 13 out of 14 found this Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-shot review helpful

    Pros: Mostly everything

    Cons: Voice volume, buttons

I bought this phone, sony ericsson k800i, 2 months ago. I couldnt wait to play with it and when i got it, thats what i exactly did. I spent so much time playing and getting to know this phone that until now i am still in a "wow" state. Fir...st of all, i like the phones color. I am so glad i did not get the james bond - casino royale version (kinda greyish color) because this one fits my personality better. It is not like the motorola razr v3i version (metallic) and yes it is plastic but the phone is stylish (at least what i think). I want to start with the good side: The screen is vibrantly clear and crisp. Buttons are fair, not really friendly especially for those people who have big fingers, but for somebody like me who have tiny fingers i can live with it and it works fine. Navigation button is a plus although it takes a couple of steps to get to wherever you want to go in the settings/menu but once you get use to it, you dont even have to look at the screen, your hands will just guide you through it. Although the slider that covers the camera does not look like it belongs there because of its shiny color, I like the fact that it is different and it adds more to the looks of the phone. Features include applications you see in a regular camera phone; sms, mms, email, wap (with almost close to true full webpage), clock, organizer, stopwatch, you know stuff like that. I really like the software that they put it in it such as; 3D games, hp print (via bluetooth), photo mate, photodj, videodj, musicdj, and my favorite face warp (you take a picture of somebody in close up and then make fun of them by using this software because it will make them look more uglier). I like the video call feature but i couldnt use it because USA does not carry that service (i also like the fact that the phone has two camera, 3mp and a vga for video call) The best part that i like about this phone is the camera. SEK800I, 3.2 megapixel camera is so awesome. Granted that it does not compare to a stand alone 7 megapixel camera (duh) but it does compare to a stand alone 3.2 megapixel camera (my friend still have her 3.2 nikon and i can honestly say that this one is more better picture wise). The camera features of this phone is excellent. I dont even want to go to all the details because it is too much. It took me a long time to figure it out and until now i have to remind myself that there are some features that i can use to better my picture quality when im using it as a digital camera. Flash is nice, although, It does not compare to the flash that a stand alone camera has. That would be something that needs improvement. Anti-shake features is awesome (all my digital camera did not have this feature). Best pic did not seem to appeal me but for a lot of folks it does. Zoom is alright, will be better if it is a 7 meg. Overall, sony did a good job in combining its digital camera features with Ericsson's digital cell phone. Battery life is excellent. I use my phone a lot in taking pictures for school, playing radio and mp3 (which are the two awesome features that I need and want for a cell phone), and of course, making calls. With all that, I really do not have to recharge my phone for two days. When i recharge my phone, it goes to Optimize Charging. Seriously, it only take me an hour to charge it, and most of the time my battery is dead. Signal is better than my other phones (nokia, motorola, seimens, panasonic, lg) but of course, you cannot just "not have" a dead spot (although cingular claims to have a "no dead spot" zone). Processing system is pretty fast. I never have to boot up my phone due to a freeze up. Internet access using WAP is fair. We do not have EDGE here so i dont know if this phone is good in that. Now the bad side: Like what i said, the volume is pretty low. I actually have to stick the phone (i mean literally stick it hard) on my ear. With wired earpeice, it is better. Sony Ericsson - K800i review

The K800i is Sony Ericsson's finest handset to date as far as photography is concerned. It won't replace a real digital camera for serious photography, but it does a lot better than many other handsets with built-in cameras. And the rest of the features aren't bad, either. Read more

    Sony-Ericsson K800i

The Sony Ericsson K800i comes in black (Velvet Black in Sony Ericsson marketing language) with silver accents and has a business look with a touch of Euro chic style (they also make the phone in brown). The candy bar phone feels good in hand and is small enough to fit in a pants pocket or a shirt pocket. The phone looks well built and has a nice weight (4.1 ounces) to it. It%u2019s very similar in size and weight to the Nokia N73 with which it competes on the camera (but not smartphone) front. Read more
