    Interesting camera

By Arthur  Jul 23, 2003 | 1 out of 1 found this Sony DSR-PD150 review helpful

This camera has high image quality. Is that all you're looking for? cuz if it is, this is the camera for you. However, if you are looking for film-like smoothness and motion. This is not the camera for you. It is very very limited in its fun...ctions and capabilities compared to some other cameras out there. Not worth the price. Read more Less

    Great camera, some audio issues

By Robert  Dec 28, 2001 | 1 out of 1 found this Sony DSR-PD150 review helpful

I have owned a PD150 for almost 16 months now and use the camera regularly in video production for the Internet. Overall, I'm very, very impressed and will probably buy another for two camera shooting. The XLR mic connectors and 48V phantom power a...re great. The audio AGC setting works very, very well. However, Sony really needs to fix the Microphone Noise Reduction circuit (thankfully, it CAN be turned off). With it on, audio recorded by the camera can be nearly unusable for certain voices, or some vocal performances, because of an odd, digital "ringing-on" noise produced when the MIC NR is engaged. (This problem has been confirmed in several different PD-150 serial number ranges). This is a bit more than a nuisance in a professional production environment, but it's not impossible to work around. And, except for this issue, the camera is great. Read more Less
