The DCR-VX2000E takes 3CCD video capturing even further. The basic design incorporates a prism to split the incoming light source into three primary components (red, green & blue). This allows its three separate CCDs to capture each primary color source independently. Once separated, each component is processed by 470, 000 pixel (PAL) CCD that is dedicated to output a single primary color signal for independent Digital Signal Processing. By doing so, huge quality benefits in color accuracy and picture quality can be reaped over single-CCD cameras. The Advanced Hole Accumulation Diode (HAD) technology produces excellent results in low light condition, with noise level bring half that of previous levels. The quality of the recorded image is determined by the efficiency of the CCD sensor as well as the internal voltage controlled circuits. This new technology neutralizes noise caused by unwanted negative charge in the sensor and by using a noise reduction circuitry in the voltage output circuit. High performance optics provides pin-sharp rendition of your subject at up to 12x magnification. On the other hand, 48x digital zoom gives amplified zooming power to help magnify any distant object. In fact, with a variable speed zoom motor at work, you can shift from minimum to maximum zoom in as little as 1.8 seconds, or up to as long as 22 seconds. By offering a Progressive scanning mode, the DCR-VX2000E provides stunning still frame capturing. Instead of each frame being a construct of 2 interlaced fields, each representing 50% of the picture information, progressive scanning technology saves each frame as a complete picture for superior sharpness and less noise. Perfectly suited for recording a still frame to Memory Stick. Full motion video can also be captured via the progressive scanning mode at 25 frames a second for PAL transmission. DCR-VX2000E's Super SteadyShot eliminates camera shake for sharp and focused pictures. With the help of horizontal and vertical physical motion sensors and an optical prism, the image is stabilized without any degradation in picture quality. Even when using the camera's zoom lens, Super SteadyShot maintains its effectiveness throughout and helps you frame and capture shots perfectly. The camera also offers other great features like Photo Mode Recording on DV Tape and Analog-to-Digital Recording / Signal Convert.
