Presenting another addition to Sony's megapixel camcorder line. Sony's high-performance CCD image sensor delivers 520 lines of digital video resolution and fabulous 1152 x 864 still images. Built-in Digital Still Camera with Memory Stick allows you to store still images in digital format at 640x480 resolution in Sony's new Memory Stick memory. For convenience, they can be easily transferred to a PC where they can be stored, put in documents, shared on the Internet, or sent through e-mail.

World renowned for high quality optical applications, the Carl Zeiss Varrio Sonnar zoom lens provides exceptional image quality. Hole Accumulation Diode CCD reduces noise in the video signal to improve signal-to-noise ratio by up to 6dB (2x better than a standard CCD). It is particularly effective when shooting in dark situations. 12-bit/16-bit PCM Digital Stereo Audio Recording offers a choice of either a single 16-bit/48kHz stereo audio track for DAT-quality recording, or two 12-bit/32kHz stereo tracks for CD sound quality. DV SP/LP Record and Playback Modes offer up to 60 minutes of digital recording in SP or up to 90 minutes in LP. Digital Image Stabilization helps to reduce image shake and jitter, delivering a more stable picture. Forget about cables, wires and adapters. Sony's Super LaserLink system uses infrared light to make a wireless connection from your camcorder to your television. Just use the transmitter in that is built-in to the camcorder together with the optional receiver. The Super LaserLink System features a transmission range up to 8 meters. When you're out shooting the action, the last thing you want to see is the dreaded flashing battery indicator -the sign that you've got no power left. That's why Sony cut power consumption and extended battery life.

I bought this product last December. What I want is a DIGITAL camcorder and so I can input digital video to my computer. However, after I got it , I found that I had to buy i-link cable. O.K. Keep buying. I picked up a cable. Ooh! where is the softwa...re? There is no software coming with it to support DV input function. I called sony customer support only to find they don't sell this kind of software. In this case, what's the difference between a DIGITAL camcorder and an 8mm camcorder??? Read more Less
