Sony's Best HandyCam for under $600.00

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 27, 2006 | 16 out of 20 found this Sony DCR-HC32 review helpful

    Pros: Everything

    Cons: Can't find any

Sony handyCam This is the DCR-HC32 and it’s a great camera. This is one of the best handycams iv ever used. I used a dvd camera a wile back and it sucked. The recording on the 1 hour is so snowy its like using a camera phone only paying $600.00. In... the 30 min mode it was fine but then that’s not much time to film anything now days. I like to film a lot of footage and then cut out what I don’t like. This Cam is so easy to use I just plug it into the IEEE port and use windows movie maker and 1,2,3, its done. The camera came with a docking station which at first I thought was kinda dombe but the folks at sony got it right. It makes it easy to just place it on your desk and if your not using it just turn the base off and it undocks from the computer. In all im happy to have got it over the others I tried. If your in the market for a small cam this is a awesome one to get. In the stor on the display it looked a little big but you get it off the security cord and its just the right size for any hand. Cons: I don’t have one right now but as soon as I find one ill let everyone know. Read more Less

    Great Camera, lots of fun

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 13, 2005 | 14 out of 20 found this Sony DCR-HC32 review helpful

Pros: Features, zoom, Memory Stick Duo slot, Supernightshot Plus

Cons: Battery life could be longer

I have wanted a video camera for a long time, so when I procured a good amount of graduation money, I decided to save it, and while looking around for the right camera, I found this one and had to have it, so after failing to recieve financing I deci...ded to use all of my money to buy one. This is a great camera, fun to play around with, a lot of awesome features, and an all out great buy. I would recomend this camera to every body, and if not this particular camera, I tell them to at least keep Sony Handycam on their short list. NOW I DEMAND YOU, BUY THIS AWESOME CAMERA! Ha ha, just kidding! Read more Less

Sony DCR-HC32 First Impressions Camcorder Review

The DCR-HC32 only offers very modest upgrades from the DCR-HC21. It costs $100 more than the DCR-HC21. For this increase in price, it includes a handycam docking station and the ability to record still photos to Memory Stick Duo, though the actual media is not included. Other than that, the DCR-HC32 and the DCR-HC21 are identical. They both feature identical imagers, LCD screens, ports, accessory shoes, and body design. So really the question is whether or not youre looking to record stills to card media, even if its only at 640 x 480. The ironic part is that the handycam docking station might be more trouble than its worth, especially if youre going on a trip that requires light packing. Either way, I suppose a hundred bones isnt going to break the bank too much, though you have to factor in the fact that youre going to have to purchase a Memory stick if you buy the DCR-HC32, bringing the price up even higher. Add in the fact that the stills aren't that good, and it seems pretty po... Read more
