Pros: looked great
Cons: stopped working after 18 months
This product looked great, and worked great, until a couple of months after the warranty ran out. Paid $900.00 for something that lasted 18 months, the sad thing is that We also bought a sony 65inch big screen tv, hope it lasts....We can pray.

sysem sounds great. take's long period of time to load dvd's.had this system for just over a month and it stoped reading dvd's.

Fortunately, the people at Sony are friendly.
This thing however is a piece of crap. It's slow; it's unreliable and it's a waste of money. I've been a loyal Sony customer for years, but won't go back. Holy Mother of .... geez that was close . . .
The surround sound from this system is incredible, but it may just take that certain scene to really appreciate it. Before I purchased this Sony DAV-fr9 I had what I thought was a perfectly fine and decent surround system. Well either I'm behind the times or this Sony's just a little ahead. Regardless, I'm elated at the way it made me and my friends jump out of our skin at the beginning sequence of T3's missle launch. We all thought that thing was coming down on us. I've seen this movie several times but I've never felt this experience. After that scene all was delivered crystal clear and flawless, but when the action returned, only then (again) could we appreciate the magnificence of this system. Ditto for all other dvd's I've tested since. Don't rate this system until you've spent some time with it. Oh by the way, aesthetically this sytem is pure eye candy!Was this review helpful? Yes - No
