Far Behind
Pros: Design and Dimesion is Superb ever never seen such a thin
Cons: Almost Far Behind in Image Quality
I was deep interested when i saw the camera because of of it's slim design and good looking, in no time i make it mine. Almost all the features are good but the output of picture quality is poor being a 5 mega pixel camera. It is easy to use but due to poor picture quality its seems like obsolete camera. I paid almost $415 in 2005, this camera is awarded by TIPA although the camera is not enough to be awarded due to its low quality, cause camera is built to shoot but its shooting output quality is very very very very poor Vasant Thulung

Pros: ULTRA-compact, center-of-attention styling, gorgeous screen
Cons: low-light performance
Have it in black and to this day still elicits oohs and aahhs. absolutely gorgeous object that also takes very good photographs easily. huge bright screen, useful and conveniently accessed features, cool accessories (i got'em all! the leather case looks like it's made by coach and the waterproof housing protects it from rain/
water/
dust/
sand/
children).
the image quality may not match that of a 12 MP prosumer DSLR but is very good in most situations, outdoors or well-lit interiors. i rarely want to haul my brick-of-a-DSLR around, but i always have my DSC-T7 so i never miss that shot. make sure you you use the wrist strap. it's easy to drop and if you don't have the strap on you'll be sad!!!Was this review helpful? Pros: Small, fits in a pocket

I have had this camera for a while now (more than 20 months). I simply love the features and its portability. I simply put it in my pocket and carry it with when I go hiking and biking. I like the day pics, they are crisp and lively.
However, I am not really happy with the night shots, they are blurry and dark. The flash just bleaches the pics a lot. When in zoom mode the camera is super sensitive to vibrations. So, the picture are shaky all the time! One other thing that I didnt like is its somewhat poorly designed battery charging feature.
Only the whole there are good, bad and ugly things with this camera. If you think you want to slip in something in your pocket and want to take day pics...this is the one for you.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoDSC-T7
Pros: Brilliantly small and versatile
Cons: Not so good at night and then after a couple of years faithfull service...
The software has a glitch. The local branch were totally useless and not interested at all. So - the date will not stay set and prompts to be set every time it is powered up and the battery now goes flat every 24 hours regardless of use. Anyone else have this problem?

Cons: Obviously size does trade off against battery lifetime and lens lightgathering abilitity
People need to understand what this camera is - pretty much the most compact digital camera you can buy. This means that the battery lifetime (Sony Li-ion rechargable) isn't great. Also, because of the tiny lens, you shouldn't dream of being able to snap night-time shots of awesome quality (at least not without doing your utmost to stabilize the camera). You can get some irritating noise with high ISOs. However, I've taken some pretty good fireworks pictures with it, so bring it along even after dark.
The big LCD is very nice, you can easily zoom in and see if the picture you just took was any good. Contrary to what some reviewers say, it is absolutely possible to take good pictures with this camera. Overall, I think the picture quality is on par if not better than my older Canon A80 - which is a big brick compared to the Sony.
What's unbeatable with this camera is that it's tiny enough to fit in a shirt pocket without you noticing it's there. This means you can snap pictures you otherwise would never have taken. The picture quality is still vastly superior to any mobile phone camera I've seen (these are hyped to fill the same role). Also, the video function (VGA @ 50 Hz) is very good for such a compact camera.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoSome cellphones are better!

Despite its size and slim shape, I can only found some issues to this digital camera. Of course, the picture quality is crap but that's not the only one problem...

The T7 totally blew me away when I firt got my hands on it. I used one for about 5 months and I loved its sleek, stylish looks and fun video features but after a while it started showing its bad sides.
The T7 uses a smaller battery than the T1 and T33. It gives you a smaller amount of use than the T-series battery but it will still allow you to get some great number of shots and video if you don't use the lcd screen. The camera also makes use of Memory Stick Pro Duo's which was obviously going to be the only memory format small enough for it since it is so thin. Pro Duo's work great here, leaving me to believe they were intended for camera's this size from the very beggining instead of the PSP.
T7 comes with a great SONY lanyard which lets you wear it around your neck. If your at a party or chilling in the city, people will take look and notice this sharp looking silver device. Just make sure you don't get it wet.
The zoom knob allows you to zoom into an object 5-8 meters away for a closeup and the T7 gives you every single scene mode you'd normally see on the larger P series and W series cameras. taking pictures is easy and fun with this baby. I also enjoyed the video camera mode which allows you to store plenty of video footage just in case you happen to witness a nefarious act.
Now for the Bad...
Firstly, I don't like the slide cover. The slide tends to open when you don't want it to and that in turn wastes battery power.
The zoom ability of the camera is impressive with its 3x macroscopic moving lens but the real challenege is holding the mini camera steady while focusing. The size in this respect is one of the biggest problems of the camera. I tryed long and hard to take a picture of a still object without getting blurred results because I had such a hard time keeping still.
slightly larger cams like the t1 and T33 or the Cannon SD series are easier to use than the T7. Too bad there was no digital image stabilizer.
I was also not crazy about the camera's left handed design. It isn't hard to get used to it but in a quick use situation, it is very confusing.
OVERALL, While I enjoy using the T7 for a makeshift digital video camera and a camera at parties, I can't recommend it for general use because of the difficulties I see using it. I would recommend a P200, a W5 or a W7 instead.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoThought it would be better than I had expected

Well, as most of us I looked at this camera and said "Wow, cool designed, small, good tech characteristics... It's great to have this camera." So when finally I got it and made some shots I'd recognized some disadvantages. The main is because of it's size and weight it's hard to fix any object, so as a resutl you need to have bed to make well done picks. The second, bad night shots, so as well you need a bed. In this case can mention that some of Cannon models with almost the same characteristics can easily achieve good resuls in fixing and night shotting as well. So guys before you decide to do thi purchaise think of you desires of this camera to do and then make a conclusion whether to buy or not. For the same sum of money you can come up to better results in photography.

This camera is such a great camera. I am one of those who hate to read manuals. This is great, I just opened the box it came in, charged the battery and took all kinds of pics w/out reading anything. Love the LCD screen, so big!! My eyes aren't so great. Pics are great quality!! Thin camera and fits in my pocket. Dropped it once, still great! I love it. If I lost it, I'd buy the same one all over again. Great candlelight pics too.
