GREAT CAMERA

I absolutely adore this camera! I got it back in October. (I traded my iPod video for it) The image quality is amazing and the extra digital zoom gives you great close up. I unfortunately dropped it and cracked my LCD so I cant use the different settings, just my viewfinder. Also the shutter lag is a bit annoying for action shots, the battery life is pretty poor, but rechargeable batteries fix that issue. Overall I am very satisfied with this camera and plan to buy a "new" refurbished model from Sony so I can have my LCD back.

I've had this camera for 1.5 years and have liked the quality pictures/images I can get. Decent movie feature. Fairly easy to use (when it works). Nice size.
Since the beginning I have experienced the buttons "freezing"--can
not review pictures, freezes in volume mode (when movie mode not on)---with beeping, cannot resume picture taking. Internet searches did not produce much help or others with similar problems, so hopefully just a fluke. When this happens, I just have to shut the camera off and leave it for a while OR I have to press the center button REALLY hard to get it to unfreeze.
Recently, I dropped the camera on soft ground and now does what one previous poster mentioned---turn on and all I get is a high-pitched grinding sound, LCD screen is blank, occasionally get the screen that says I should turn off camera and turn back on---but I am unable to turn it off unless I remove the batteries. Unable to take pictures or movies now. The price originally was a nice Pro aspect of this camera, but $200 for a year-and-a-half doesn't seem worth it now.Was this review helpful? this cam is a fab! almost 9 months and 3000 pics done, yet not even a single problem!! the 6MP pics are super hot, and its amazing 360 pics on my 1GB card. the best is no stupid rotating controls, and interfece is more like a mobile. you get a complete control over the pic. I got it for $225 then, but not regrettin it for the fact tht many ready to pay $200 for it even now in India (it was never formally launched it here, got it shipped). Guys just drool over the thing!

i loved this camera because of its cheap price!! i didnt imagine that sony has these type of cheap cameras... i bought it about 1 year ago and i loved it and i took about 900 pictures till now and i didnt have any problems with it.. except i faced some problems with the batteries where i must buy alot of batteries if i use it simutaniously.. soo i suggest most of the people to buy some rechargable batteries from any of the radio shacks shops.... thxxx and i enjoy this camera and i suggest you to use it :)

This camera was great until a few months went by. Then it started giving me all sorts of problems. Each time I turn it on it makes this horrible gringing noise and then has an error on the screen or most of the time it just keeps telling me to turn it back on and off when I try to turn it on. Tried to exchange it and was told by the store to go thru sony who would repair it at my cost for parts. Needless to say I am not happy with the camera as far as mechanical problems...

i absolutly love this camera. It's a sony made camera not some poorly-made digital, the price is amazing, for the great settings it has it is worth every penny and more. The digital zoom is amazingly detatailed adn on VGA you can go up to 13x! i go camping a lot and i rarly run out of juice in the battery if i get a new one before i leave and those are regular ankoline! this camera has 100s of settings but it is so easy to pick up. This camera is really full featured for a entry level camera. This camera can be used by the young and old and both can take great pics. this camera has many features simular to an slr. i have taken beutiful shots with this camera and i love the open shutter feature on this camera, exesisally when you take it of a fire. there is one con and one semi con. the cons, dont use the included batteries! they dont last long and they are underpowered. the semi con, the camera uses the sony-only memory stick duo or duo pro, and each cost a lot of money and they are only available from 3 manufactorers, sony, sandisk(they make my card 512 mb) and lexar. the memory sticks are on sale frequently so dont miss out on them like me, you should get a 2gb or 1gb memory card, they are cheap right now and you can store a lot of 6-mp pics. GET THIS CAMERA!!!!

I bought this as a display Demo so for $100 I loved it. The other one we have not same brand was cheaper but let me tell you the battery life is so much better with this one it's worth it alone for this one.

This Sony Cybershot camera is amazing-it takes great photos-I enjoy the special 16:9 HDTV mode which gives your photos a widescreen effect.
I found the menu system extremely easy to navigate-compared to the Canon cameras that I owned before.

Nice picture Quality, 6 MP is a worth with Quality lens, The price is only competitive but not cheep as they are not giving any Memory card, Charger and rechargeable battery . The details of the picture are going down as you go to image edges. this is bit more on right side. You may get less battery life because of the strong flash. The higher ISO is not that useful as the image is suffering from noise, Slowest shutter speed is 2 sec only unlike many other cameras in this price range. But works great at focusing in dark. Design does not allow you to take pictures with single hand. Other interesting thing is it's lens, 31-93mm, very good for land scape at this price range. Don't for get to take Memory stick pro "DUO" to take video at 30 fps, other wise it is 16 fps only. Of course you cannot compare video with handy cam. Picture quality is great, Picture editing software provided works great.
