Cons: fringing in some situations, slow start up time
I bought this camera because I was looking for something between your typical point-and-shoot and a dslr, both of which I already own. I am generally very pleased with the features and the quality of this camera. The controls are very intuitive for both manual and automatic settings. The zoom is very impressive. I have been able to get extraordinary details in my shots that are too far away to see with my eyes, including mountain climbers on El Capitan in Yosemite and crater and sea detail on the moon!
The image quality is very good with the exception of some fringing in bright sunlight or high-contrast situations. The camera is also very slow to start up but very responsive once it has started.
For the most part this is an exceptional camera for the price. ...
