Pros: LOUD, Many Features, MP3 de-compression (Makes those heavily compressed MP3's sound great), A Million Features, Built-in Low Pass and High Pass, Equalizer, Ease of installation

Cons: Blue lights look a little bit light purple-ish, doesn't come with installation-kit, face not detachable

This here is an excellent product, as are many Sony car stereos. I had a Jensen radio in my car previously which I had thought sounded pretty good in my 85 Monte Carlo.. I thought that the Jensen was the best it could get for 3 inch speakers in the d...ash and 6x9s in the back in a 4x10 opening... WRONG.When the volume controls on the Jensen broke I had to break open the wallet and buy something... something I had faith in, something my girlfriend's brother bought (he has the equivalent to this Model, but from 3-5 yrs. ago)...The wiring was easy enough (thank god I didn't pay another 400 to some moron to do this for me.. SOO SIMPLE-I reccomend anyone install their own radios... --if you are replacing another aftermarket radio-- this is because dealer radio-wire-colors don't always match aftermarket... all I had to do was cut the same color jensen wires and twist em to the sony wires.---I had thought that if I wanted my car to sound like others, I'd need an amplifier and some sub-woofers.... NOT THE CASE. My 3 inch's and my 6x9's (which now have an appropiate adapter on them so they fit the 4x10 hole adequetly-- which was a pain in the butt because of the trunk tension rods which are literally 1/4" below my speaker's base.SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC... In fact, I get soo much BOOM out of this BOX that I worry it'll blow my speakers-- never had to worry about that with my other radio! -- Clarity! Clarity! Clarity! Wow how clear the music sounds now.. Features -- there's WAAAAYYY too many to list!If you want to be nuts and get more volume-- which no one needs with this stereo, go get an amp and subs if you wish.. but it's plenty enough like this, and believe me, I like it LOUD!I actually thought at first this radio sucked! WRONG! (forgot to turn on the Loudness option!!) =)All-in-all great stereo system! Although I wish I were the only one who could brag about having one, I highly reccomend the rest of you buy it!This is the same thing as the CDX-M8800 but with blue lights and it's part of sony's collectors edition radios or whatever-- check their web site for info... Also, Remote control- I hope you get some velcro or somethin, cuz I almost lost it 3x today! Read more Less
