Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (GameCube)
The tedious collecting and shooting levels are made more frustrating by the game's uncooperative camera, and it's a shame that Sega's latest Sonic game has very little to do with the blue hedgehog. more...

The best word to describe this game is: addictive. I would catch myself staying up till one o' clock trying to finish a level. The graphics were beautiful, especially the Sonic/Shadow levels. In some reviews, people didn't like the treasure hunting and shooting levels, but I personally did. It's a nice break from the fast paced action of the Sonic/Shadow levels. The plot was well developed, and I enjoyed the choice of playing the heroes or the villians, though I felt guilty at times fighting Tails or Sonic. Personally, I felt the Chao world was a bit out of place, and didn't spend much time raising Chao. It seemed more like a Pokemon thing. Only two things bugged me; the camera operations and the timing of the sound. The camera operations would get annoying since you couldn't control the camera. Many times, especially backtracking, you can't see where you are going, and you find yourself falling off edges. But even in some of the best games with the best camera control, you can't get the camera exactly where you want it. Only on a few occasions was the camera awkward, but throughout most of the game, it stayed behind the character for easy playing. The sound was fine, it was just the timing was off. The character's mouth would move, but he/she would stop speaking. It took away some of the magic of the game, but it didn't affect the playing.
Overall, the game was wonderful! With wonderful multiplayer moods, plenty of hidden secrets, and a plot that will keep you guessing, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle is a game for everyone. ...
