    Vocalist Maxine Sullivan sings the classic blues, jazz, and stomp tunes that were in vogue at the legendary Cotton Club in Harlem during the '20s, '30s, and '40s. Although well along in her career by this point ('84), she still had a hearty, animated voice and dynamic delivery and put enough punch in her versions to make these ancient tunes both authentic and contemporary.
